walksalone
I've gone through everyone's choices, and there are some solid ideas, but to me, it comes down to one thing... I want somebody that's played here, knows what Memorial Stadium's like when we were a great program. Someone that knows of the pride and tradition. Do we need someone that's "homegrown", and my answer to that is yes. The only "outsider" i'd consider is Bo Pelini. I know he's not media "saavy", but he's not paid to be a media darling. He's paid to be a coach, light a fire under some asses, get this team motivated, and moving in the right direction. I really don't want another coach from an "up and coming program", unless he's played here, or coached here before. Quote Link to comment
brownNgold
T.O. as interm A.D. Joe Glenn from Wyoming as head coach. He won two national championships at UNC in Greeley and his Wyoming team is doing very well with lots less talent than we have. He has beaten Virginia this year as well as TCU last night. He has only one stipulation in his contract and that is if Husker nation needs him. WE NEED HIM. He is a very good coach. Hasn't Nebraska taken enough of Wyomings coaches Quote Link to comment

Pedro Guerrero
For the people that have said Major Applewhite here is a site you can go to when you get disappointed in his coaching performance and think it is time for a change. http://firemajorapplewhite.blogspot.com/20...01_archive.html Nothing like being prepared. Well, your list just got REALLY short. I just want a good coach. I don't think it will be too hard to impress on him the tradition and pride inherent in the Nebraska program. In other words, if I had to choose between the better coach or the former Husker, I'd take the better coach 10 times out of 10. Quote Link to comment
