husker4ever07
"I was a little bit surprised that they went just about the entire game getting pressure on us with a three-man rush," Missouri offensive coordinator Dave Christensen said. "Obviously, it didn’t work very well. I don’t foresee Oklahoma doing that or at least making a living doing that." Daniel was less subtle in his reaction to Nebraska’s game plan. "They’re very stubborn," Daniel said. "Cosgrove’s a very stubborn guy. It’s always been that way. … That’s just how he is, that’s how they are. They’re a bunch of confident guys in what they do, and they felt they had the best chance doing that, so they stuck with it." "You can’t just play one defense the whole entire game," Daniel added. "That’s like high school stuff that I faced in high school, so it’s nothing new for me." OUCH! Quote Link to comment
BleedRed7
I just heard on 1620 the zone, that when Chase Daniel was interviewed he said, "that Kevin Cosgrove was stubborn, that the coaches at Nebraska are stubborn"...he was talking about not going away from the 3-4 defense. He also said that "it was like highschool football". The coaches of Missourri even mocked the defensive schemes and were puzzled by why KC did not switch up the defense. Quote Link to comment

junior4949
If I were Pinkel, I don't think I'd be making fun of any other coach. Pinkel's play calling has had me scratch my head a time or two especially when he took a running QB like Smith and tried to make him a drop back passer. Quote Link to comment
mjmartin1970
I think this exemplifies the entire problem with the coaching staff (offense and defense). They see what they are doing isn't working, the look to see what the problem is, and IMHO they see it is a missed blocked here, a missed tackle there, a blown assignment, etc. Then they most likely say to themselves - well, we are not executing. We do not need to change our schemes, we just need to get our players to execute our schemes. (By the way, they aren't blaming the players with this statement). The problem is that is the answer to the question for a game may be two, maybe even a season BUT WHEN IT IS STILL HAPPENING IN THEIR FOURTH SEASON AS COACHES They've gotta start asking themselves, why do the players continue to have a hard time executing our game plan? It is year 4 and we still can't run the ball with any consistency. It is year 4 and we still have fairly major breakdowns in pass protection (for entire games, not just plays). It is year 4 and we still can't stop the School for the Deaf & Blind from gaining 400 yards on us. Guys, it is time to re-evaluate how & what you are coaching. Quote Link to comment
brasky
Not trying to be political, but the similarities are astounding. The University has been hijacked by cronies that can't admit they are wrong and 'stay the course'. God I wish pud would get fired and Tom O could be our AD. Quote Link to comment
KansasHusker
Somebody had to say it. Hell yes our coaches are stubborn. VERY stubborn. Quote Link to comment
