Bo Pelini's salt water aquarium guy is a friend of mine...

THIS JUST IN:

My friend the aquarium dude text'd me and said that they had worked out a possible solution for the fish transport and that it was looking like a "go." The lady was pretty adamant that there be a salt water fish place in Lincoln to look after the aquarium once it is set up.

So give this another 24 hours. If Bo is announced, you can assume that they got the aquarium situated.

Good grief, salt water fish aren't made of glass. My neighbor has had them for 10+ years out here in the sticks of Western Nebraska. There isn't anything special you need to do other than keep their water warm enough and the salt content within the limits. You do not need a salt water aquarium specialist. I will give you credit though. IMO, this rumor takes the cake.

OK Here's the latest...

Apparently the transport of the aquarium is more dicey than originally thought - not only does Mrs. Pelini want a climate controlled truck for the aquarium (that's a given), but now she also wants air suspension so the tank doesn't get repeatedly jolted on the trip.

That's a major problem, my friend is working on it. Unless he can get this solved - and quickly - the Pelinis have said "hold everything."

Believe what you want, but this aquarium thing is throwing a wrench into this whole process, which is likely why Dr. Tom is scheduling other interviews.

I will let everyone know when I find out more.

from college, and he said Bo's wife called yesterday a.m. and asked if the salt water fish would survive a move of over 750 miles. Apparently they had finally gotten the aquarium established and even had some of those little creatures that eat gunk off of the other fish.

So take that for what it's worth.

I don't know much about aquariums, but the survival of these fish was apparently very important, and could query the deal with Pelini.

salt water aquarium guy?

LATEST UPDATE:

My friend the salt water aquarium guy just text'd me to give me an update. What the Pelinis are debating is the deal about the live coral in the tank. Apparently this stuff is just real sensitive to temperature changes and your basic jossling around in a truck for 700-800 miles. I don't have any experience with the stuff so take that for what it's worth.

It could be that the lival coral just stays behind in Baton Rouge and they turn it back to the aquarium shop or simply find a new owner by running a simple classified advertisement on Craigslist. You guys might laugh at all this but people get real serious about pets - especially when you consider that coral is really kind of considered endangered I think and it's not good to mess with it.

Anyway, I wouldn't necessarily give up on Bo yet. It is very possible that they will arrive at a decision as soon as this weekend and then we can get this program back where it belongs.
