skersfan
Hanc, Nothing would be better. But unfortunately I think both of us are going to be disappointed. Quote Link to comment
Hunter94
cowher looks pretty content as an analyst on Sunday. he has no ties to the midwest and there is no earthly, sane reason for him to come here. nice post for a dreamer. let's see, how about we say the big Tuna is gonna come here next? K0rnHusker
I love what cowher would bring to the table by means of attitude, grit and toughness but i don't see this happening! I would not be un-happy if he got the job but i am sure i would be surprised if he is even considering NU. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
4949, That is the question. Does Nebraska want to win or are they just appeasing the fans. Money has is the problem with getting a proven head coach. We either need to step up and do it or just admit that we are only concerned with our sell out record, being adequate and on a rare occasion playing for the MNC. The money is here if we decide we want to be players. From what Coach Osborne has been saying I am not convicned that is the idea. More along what Ohio State did. I know they are out there, but I would rather see Rodriguez or Reicht, Tuberville, Spurrier or that level running the sidelines. Turner does not fit into that picture no matter how Nebraskan we want someone to be. We will know what our goals are after this coaching search. If they do not even ask or consider some of the top level coaches, we pretty much know it is about staying the course and hoping for a god send. Quote Link to comment

Husker Deb
He's never coached college, only pro. I love him but don't think he'd work out here really. Quote Link to comment
Danimal
Cowher is night and day from BC. He would fit great into the Nebraska-mold of hard-nosed, highly-motivated football. I have thought about him but never considered him a realistic option. But if he was interested in college-ball Neb would suit him to a T. If he is actually interested it would be a crime not to interview him. I guarantee you boosters would come up with the extra $$ it might take to pull him. Quote Link to comment
np_husker
No NFL guys!!!!!! Quote Link to comment
HuskerBruin
Bill Cowher? What, you're not interested in Bill Belichick? Quote Link to comment
Wally
A coach like that would only come to Nebraska so he could coast into retirement while drawing a multimillion dollar salary. Colorado tried it, Oklahoma tried it -- It doesn't work! Quote Link to comment
General Blackshirt
Are you guys sure you want to hire a coach from the NFL, named Bill C? Quote Link to comment
BenchWarmer
Cowher could draw recruits to Nebraska. Pelini won't. Gill won't. Huh? Why wouldn't they be able to bring recruits? BC brought lots of highly rated out of state recruits. Didn't work out so well. Turns out you have to know what to do with whatever tools you have. Quote Link to comment
skersfan
My guess is Cowher knows what he is doing, maybe just a little. I can not handle the bogasms anymore. You guys want him, I hope you get him. Done talking about the usless load of well what ever. Quote Link to comment
Bleeding Husker Red
Sorry, but I want a coach who isn't going to be tempted by every open NFL head coaching job. I doubt that would be a major concern. Cowher seemed to be tiring of the NFL in his last season. He's one of the four nfl coaches I think would be interesting to watch here. Cowher, Schottenheimer, Parcells and Holmgren. Well, I would have added Joe Gibbs if he hadn't gone back to Redskins...aniehoo.... Not that I think we'd ever pursue any of them. Just that it would be interesting. Quote Link to comment
Bleeding Husker Red
I still think we're overlooking the obvious. Will a proven winner really come here for 1 to 1.2 million? I'm betting not. I wish people would get over this. I'm sure Bill Cowher would be well aware that he could get more in the NFL. For some guys it really is about the game instead of the money you know..... jeez...
