I have been saying that for awhile. There is a GOLD MINE of talent down here in Texas. Way too many good kids for UT, Baylor, UTEP, Aggies, and Tech to take! We got to get em while the getting is good. This kid is a MUST! Link to comment

ironmike
He's got a great name for a linebacker too. I can hear it now..."Alonzo Whaley coming on a blitz; Whaley drills Freeman and drives him into the ground!" Link to comment
chamrocck
From Husker Journal: JANUARY 11, 2008. PREP STAR ALONZO WHALEY, LB, 6-0, 211, 4.5, MADISONVILLE, TEXAS “Without seeing Nebraska yet, they are slightly in the lead, but I want to visit them to know more.” said Alonzo, “Coach Eckeler (Nebraska) says he likes how I move to the ball, they are recruiting me as a Will or Sam.” “Nebraska looses a lot of linebackers like Arizona State does. Nebraska coaches said it would be up to me to work hard and earn a spot.” he said. “Nebraska is rebuilding and it happens, you have to bring people in. When Pelini was at LSU they stopped recruiting me because my test score was down but I did raise it up.” “I like coach Pelini, him and Eckeler will visit me next week before I visit Nebraska January 25. In the championship game LSU’s defense steped it up and took over.” said Alonzo. “Arizona State is another great school.” he said, “They are recruiting me as a OLB, but might move me around.” “I like Louisiana Tech they are nice people there, they made me feel like home and that’s what I’m looking for.” “Oklahoma State has some linebacker’s coming back and some Juco players. They are a good school. Oklahoma State has been on me since day one. Oklahoma State had a chance to give up on me they didn’t” said Alonzo. Alonzo visited Louisiana Tech December 14. Alonzo’s January visits: Oklahoma State 1/11, Arizona State 1/18 and Nebraska 1/25. Link to comment
