Landlord
Have a big game go our way? How many times in the last 5 years have we had these huge games, play our hearts out, and lose because of bad circumstances? It seems like just about every "up and coming" or comparable program has had a signature win in the last few years, yet we keep being disappointed. When will it happen? It gets harder to deal with every time. Quote Link to comment

We're still waiting, maybe this will be our week! Quote Link to comment
holvy83
know what you mean, heartbreaking for all of us, when will it happen?? Who knows, but I believe it will be a big one. Its gotta happen sometime!!! Quote Link to comment
captain obvious
How the hell does K State keep beating Texas??? Quote Link to comment
papersun87
Because those other teams show up to play and play perfect or near-perfect games. You can't make as many mistakes as we made and expect to come away with a win. Edit: We nearly won anyway. Quote Link to comment
I See Red People
Things will swing our way eventually. We just need to weed out the fans who have given up on the Big Red to win a big game. Quote Link to comment
admo
We will always get everyone's best. Teams get geeked up to play the Huskers. As far as the Big 12 North goes, it's redemption & payback. They lose no tears. They want to kill us. As for non-conference opponents, see the geeked up thing. Other similar scenarios: Florida will always look at Ole Miss with a W penciled in before they play them. Same goes for USC against Oregon State. But Ole Miss & OSU have beaten these teams twice over a short period of time. The only way to silence the critics and get a big win is to actually do it. It'll happen. Someday. Hopefully. Please Lord???? Quote Link to comment
The One
You guys need to let them drop if you think that was a big game. Why because it was on TV? Give me a break. The next two games and the rest of the season are "big" games. At least we made V-Tech get ranked again. Quote Link to comment
I See Red People
The definition of a big game has change over time now hasn't it? Those big games of old are now predetermined losses. Sucks but as Bob used to say, baby steps. Quote Link to comment
RedNLeader
those teams probably make less mental mistakes in big games than we do Quote Link to comment

But if we had won on Saturday..half the people in these forums would nit pick...or say "...if this (insert event) hadn't happened it could have been a different story"...some people lose badly and win badly...I don't get some of the "fans" on this site. Captain K
We don't get those surprise wins because our guys don't get that euphoric, "I can't believe we are about to beat big-time U" feeling. We are Nebraska. As soon as we go 5-7 a few more times and players quit coming here expecting championships and the fans quit having those expectations, our team will get ahead of a top ten team, get all geeked up and pull off the big one. Then of course we will lose to Central Arkansas or Montana St. the next week due to the hangover of the big win. We beat teams we are better than and lose to teams that are better than us. As soon as our program falls completely off the map we might get that type of win. Quote Link to comment

Relax, I think landlords point was that it wood be nice to win a big game because it's been a while since we've done it. How can you argue that? Quote Link to comment
