Huskers532
There are a couple of redshirts on my floor that say that PJ wasn't ready to play this year. Quote Link to comment

huskerjack23
just to be stupid...the redshirts were the ones who always died on the original star trek. that's what they call bit players on any show or movie that die now because of it. Quote Link to comment
strigori
Follow this logic. I think that Pelini looked at what he had, and decided that he could make a bowl game this year, without burning RSs. Thus stocking up the talent for a better foundation for the future. Very few true freshman have played this year, and a couple that have should get medicals. Quote Link to comment
I am I
yeah, we got a stable of young talent practicing, learning the Pelini philosophy...not out there getting the confidence and brains bashed in by OU. we will frickin rock it next year with everyone who redshirted. but this year, we could still go 9-4!! imagine that. BigWillie
What real difference would PJ have made? Freshmen safeties hardly ever make a true difference for a defense. Putting them back there more or less lets them learn more and little else. Save 'em for the future. Quote Link to comment
Blackshirt316
PJ Smith wouldn't be doing any better than Ricky Thenarse or Major Culbert.. both of whom have been riding pine quite often. Quote Link to comment
melscott62
i'm not suggesting we shouldnt have RS' him.....just that he is another guy that we will add next yeAar that i think will help, and that in 4 years we will be glad we had him for that extra year Quote Link to comment

I know he didn't qualify due to academics but I can't find any mention that he went JUCO. Quote Link to comment
