dawhuskerkc
Anyone in fandom whose kept abreast of the new season using the message boards as source material seeking insight into the next team, would know that Lester has been off everyones radar. The 6'3" running back is emerging as #3 in the war to succeed the ones and twos. Fandom hasnt given much thought to Lester and yet here he comes....its these kinds of stories we all love, when we find out something about someone who we'd previously not given any thought or speculated about them as contributor.. These depth chart moves are always interesting, demonstrating that potential is buried throughout the roster, and the want to; can come from anywhere when that window of time is opened... some guys just go through it, as if it were theirs all along. Husker_x
If you've got the number 3 spot it's pretty much guaranteed you'll contribute more than a snap or two here and there, at least with the way Wats runs things. If he's good enough we could see another true RB committee like with BJax, Glenn, and Lucky. I don't know if I'm a fan of that. But I'm ultimately a fan of what works. Whatever happens, it's always good to have another guy who can take the reigns. Quote Link to comment
tmfr15
Lester Ward....the guy who will benefit if Q can't stop fumbling. Quote Link to comment

Enhance
Lester Ward....the guy who will benefit if Q can't stop fumbling. Hey now I'm sure Q will have a much better year in 2009. I have some thoughts in mind as to why he fumbled a lot in '08. For example, he was brought into a lot of short yardage situations where the defense is more hungry for the ball than ever, and I'm sure that played a factor. But, there is absolutely no excuse for a fumble, so there really is no excuse. Quote Link to comment

Alex 4.0
but doesn't somebody have to be #3? Quote Link to comment

Scout had him "ranked" as the 170th best RB in the nation in '08 -> Scout.com Rivals.com Imagine that...a "lowly" two star can come in and compete with the 4*'s...who woulda thunk it... No one when they are being recruited. Only when they are on the field and proving it on the field when it matters will they say that they expected it all along. Quote Link to comment

SouthBayHusker
One of the best quotes about i've ever heard about NEBRASKA is "NEBRASKA doesn't only recruit player's, they CREATE player's" Except for a few schools that have location location ie: CA, FL, TX, OK where the ****'s actually make a difference because there's so much compeition - that ranking doesn't really apply to the majority of the schools. Bo's running practice in the vain of usc - EVERYONE'S got a chance and compeition breeds sucess. Bo's not recruiting players because of their hyped ranking - He's recruiting player's that fit the system and it's gonna happen again - NEBRASKA is going to make a run sooner than everyone thinks. That's the truth... 3rd base and Catcher are perfect examples of this on the baseball team.... Quote Link to comment
