zoogs
Nice to move up a couple spots. With a really good win this week and maybe a couple more upsets, we'll move up into the 15 range. Something like 17/15 AP/coaches. Why? To hype up the VT matchup, and for no other reason... Quote Link to comment
redout22
22 is a good number. It will be a good week I have a feeling. Quote Link to comment
Twodocs
Georgia should be below us with a loss same for OK and VT Quote Link to comment
Street Novelist
Where was California at before today's polls came out? How are they a top 10 team? At least Mizzou didn't leap us Cal is a damn good team this year. They have a legitimate chance at winning the PAC 10. They dismantled a team (Maryland) who took them to town last year. Their running back, Jahvid Best, is a Heisman contender. The test will be when USC comes to town. Quote Link to comment
redout22
Because they have Jahvid Best. Also they were 12 last week. I didn't realixe ND moved all the way to 18 in the AP Quote Link to comment
Touchdown Tommie
Seems like a fair ranking for NU. I agree that the Miami ranking is a bit suspect, but the ND ranking is a joke. If they beat Michigan they will probably be moved into the top 10..... Quote Link to comment
Billyball
Georgia should be below us with a loss same for OK and VT No way. Georgia OU and VT played high ranked legitimate football teams. We played a barely division I school from a confernece nobody has heard of. If we remain undefeated and lose to a top ten team at some point we sure won't want someone playing "Sister Mary's Blind Team" and winning leapfrogging us. You ain't sh** until you play somebody and BEAT SOMEBODY. When we get by VT and Missouri, we'll be near the top 10. We beat Oklahoma we'll be in the top 5. As it is we are fortunate to be ranked where we are and have proven NOTHING at this point. We allowed those guys to go for 350 yards against out "blackshirts". VT only got 150 against Alabama. There is a reason Ala is where they are and we are where we are at this point. Patience is needed as the season plays out and we need to IMPROVE and BEAT SOMEBODY. Quote Link to comment
HuskerTrucker
At least we are ahead of Missouri and KU, but it is still too early to be picking anything in my book....they shouldn't even do polls until at least the 5th week. Quote Link to comment

TheCheshireCat
It doesn't matter if we're ranked 3 until we get past VT and then into our conference schedule. We need to pass those tests first and foremost before we know where we stand. The end season polls are really the only ones that matter. What I don't get right now is how USC is above Alabama after beating a terrible San Jose St. team, while Alabama proved itself against #7. More USC love I guess. One could also argue for Bama #1 since they're the only ones who've proven anything thus far, until the other teams catch up. Polls are pretty pointless. Quote Link to comment
JTrain
It's an exciting time for Husker football. We have two tough but very winnable road games in the upcoming weeks that will undoubtedly put us in the top 10 if we can win both. The last time we showed up in the top 10 was October 5, 2003. That's a pretty damn long time ago. Quote Link to comment
