CGREEN17
The running backs are week, the wr are just as week, & the o-line is horrible, Maybe bo needs to spend some time trying to get some play makers on the offensive side instead of just worrying about the d. Bo knows d but he sure dont no O. Quote Link to comment

ironmike
Bo has proven he is a great defensive coach. One of the best in the country. As a second-year head coach he has proven nothing. I believe he will be a great head coach in time, but unless he gets the offense figured out he won't get that time. Quote Link to comment
Paul in WI
I don't think that Bo is going to stand for his offensive staff making him look like a total chump. Did you see the press conference where he had that big, dumb, slack-jawed look? He had no answers whatsoever, but I do think he must have had an epiphany during the game (unless he's mildly retarded). We'll see this week. If he doesn't start butting in and making some wholesale changes on offense, he's a lot dumber than he already looks. At present, he's shown that he's nothing more than a first-class defensive coordinator. After Saturday, he should have been reminded why he's getting paid $1.85 million. I have faith that this guy can do it for us, and I'm plenty thankful of the job he's doing on defense, but that's only 1/2 the team and he's getting paid to run both halves. The next few weeks will say a lot. Quote Link to comment
Twodocs
We had the weapons to win this game going away. It is more than Watson who put this shotgun WCO turd in. Who is deciding what players are in Beck and Gilmore seem to have the wrong people in the game at crucial m,oments. When people show fumble they need to sit and sit some more. I have never seen a guy go limp or spasctic out like Niles Paul has two weeks in a row. If he is siezure prone he needs to sit. Helu has problems in both shoulders and where is Colin Okafor. By the way our special teams coaching is also a joke! The ISU offenssive line coach sure looks good. He has less talent than we do and ISU was 1-10 last year! Cotton also HAs some explaining to do! How about our QB coaching boy this must be like WalMart new check out machine, self coaching, perhaps there is an on line QB coach they could consult. Perhaps Mike Leach could do some paid consulting! Quote Link to comment
Never Skerd'
LISTEN: What do you guys want BO to do?????? WE are in the middle of the season, Do you want him to fire watson, hire a new OC and have him try to teach the entire offense a new system?????? THINK LOGICALLY PLEASE!!!! All he has to do is make some adjustments, find a leader on offense, and get his players to finish. Watson is here until the end of the season AT LEAST. So deal with it. Quote Link to comment

Watson showed enough with Ganz under center that he could and still should be able to call a game, if he has the right personal to work with. If Lee is what he has to go with, what would you have him do. I wanted Cody to start against Iowa St, but it must be that Lee is that much ahead of understanding the play book. I don't see any changes coming till after the season, if then. Bo knows what is expected of him and his staff. Give him time to get the right players and if need be the right coaches. There are only so many Tom Osborne or Monte Kiffen's out there to surround your self with, like Bob Devaney did. GBR!!! Quote Link to comment

He is getting paid basically two million dollars a year to keep a stadium filled, sell Husker merchandise, keep the PPV dollars rolling in, and turn the football program around. This is a BUSINESS. There are NO EXCUSES to be losing home games to teams that are the caliber of Iowa State in Year Two. NO EXCUSES. Don't apologize for the man. He's made some very grave errors in letting his OC run half the show, and he is either going to correct that mistake, or he's not long for the door. Do you think this isn't the reality of the situation? Quote Link to comment

In none of the posts above your rant did anyone even suggest that Watson be shown the door right now. That is entirely what you read into it on your own, my friend. I suggest that perhaps you are the one that needs to settle down and stop placing words in people's mouths for them. I am plenty capable of sticking my own foot in my mouth without someone suggesting that I'm making asinine comments that I'm not. Thanks. Quote Link to comment

He does need to put his foot up Watson's ass to try to get stuff going, but he doesn't know enough about offense to replace a collegiate level offensive coordinator. Quote Link to comment
MCAT800
Look gents, it doesn't matter if BP is a special teams expert. He is the HEAD COACH. TO is a patient man which is a good thing but BC was not fired because of his offense, he was fired because of his blind or stupid loyalty to Cosgrove. I would hate to see BP go down the road for his loyalty to Cotton and Watson. Quote Link to comment

We do have a new OL coach, and we've lost the influence BC (now a NFL O-line coach) has had on our line. Let's be patient. We're trying to reload in this offense and hitting some big bumps. We don't need two potential starting WRs (Cooper, Brooks) in an already awful WR corps and having Helu banged up and Burkhead out doesn't help either. Not excuses...well, they kind of are. We'll just have to wait and see what happens this year. A lot of year left to go. Quote Link to comment

Bo knows d but he sure dont no O. the O may be weak. the D is awesome. context is important. everyone knew when he was hired that Bo had NO HEAD COACHING EXPERIENCE!! he was a defensive guru and the defense looks fantastic. he needs to learn a lot about the other side of the ball. now folks are surprised that he has some learning to do? T.O. personally picked Bo. Bo will do o.k. Quote Link to comment
HuskerMack
This lose was on the players not the coaching staff plan and simple. If you have 8 turnovers in a game you can not expect to win it but yet they where right there. The offense have had noone step up this year to take charge like Suh has on D. The only 2 play makers we have on offense are both hurt Helu shouldnt have been in the game after the first carry you could tell he couldnt hold onto the ball. Rex is out. Our receivers are crap the only one that looks like he can catch the ball is Kinnie. Paul might have caught a long pass but he just isnt finishing the plays. I know they dont like to put receivers in there if they dont have there blocking skills 100% but man I think I would like a reciever to catch the ball 100% and miss his blocks 50% of the time. The players are the reason for 2 out of the 3 loses this year not the coaching staff. It is like the offense as a whole is not playing together. There is nothing wrong with the type of offense that Wats is running do I think he needs to dumb it down some more yes. Do we need to go deep more Yes but if you dont have the players to do it then what else can he do but try to coach to there strenghts. Which the players are still not getting it done. We have the talent on D to be great we just dont have it on O yet. Quote Link to comment
Pedro Guerrero
You know what if Bo wanted to bring in somebody else then he didn’t have to take the job that he took. Jim Grobe told T.O. to go jump in a lake when he was told he had to keep some coaches on staff. If you are going to give Bo a pass because he kept a couple offensive coaches then you better turn around and throw some blame at Dr. Tom. IMO: Pelini doesn’t get a pass for how the offense has been performing. People say “he was brought in to fix the defense” maybe so, but he was also brought in to be the HEAD COACH not the DEFENSIVE CORDINATOR. He is responsible for the whole team, point blank, end of story. If he doesn’t have a say on what goes on offensively then he is a bad Head Coach. He can trust his coaches all he wants but at the end of the day he is the person in charge of the WHOLE team and when things go south he is first in line when it comes to blame. Players yelling at each other, penalties, and turnovers are a thing of discipline and the undisciplined play is a result of following an undisciplined leader. T.O. personally picked Bo. If by “personally picked” you mean after another guy turned down the job due to the stipulation that he had to keep coaches around or do you mean by hiring the coach that a handful of big money boosters wanted? If either of those mean “personally picked” then sure he “personally picked” Bo. He also “personally picked” Watson and Solich over Mack Brown or Bob Stoops and gave a ringing endorsement for Steve Pederson. Just saying. Quote Link to comment
