huskers1
I have no problem with going after kids in any region but to me this is like going into big ten country yet harder. With two pretty solid in state schools along with the California schools its pretty rare they leave the west coast. Quote Link to comment
EZ-E
Suh was from Portland. Quote Link to comment
huskers1
Ya I am not saying that we don't get prospects from Oregon or big ten country bc we did get Suh and we even got Heard this year and Ankrah last year. All I am saying is that it is very difficult to work your way in to places like that. Quote Link to comment

All I am saying is that it is very difficult to work your way in to places like that. Sure, just like going into Louisiana as well. Get 1-2 from OH, LA, OR, etc. and it adds up. I really like what Bo and Co have done in this regard, they are really good at locking in on targets in these areas that the Hometown schools are either under rating and slow playing or overlooked. LSU really missed on PJ Smith and Walker Ashburn. Heard is a big time prospect from OH. NU is heavily in on Owa in OR and NU got Eric Martin from right under the noses of several PAC 10 schools and they realized it also, but too late. Quote Link to comment

Danny Bateman
Scout says that Brennan is up to 18 offers and was recently offered a spot in the 2011 US Army All American Bowl. Portland DL now has 18 offers Brennan Scarlett, a 6-foot-4, 245-pound defensive lineman from Central Catholic High School in Portland, Ore. has been extended an offer to play in the 2011 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, according to Central Catholic HC Steve Pyne. It's not the only news for Scarlett, who has also racked up some serious offers, including a big one on Thursday. "USC offered him yesterday," Pyne said Friday afternoon. That brings Scarlett's scholarship count to 18. He's been offered by everyone in the Pac-10 minus Washington State, as well as BYU, Idaho, Boise State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, LSU, Colorado and Texas Tech. According to Pyne, even though Scarlett has so many attractive scholarship options, he's nowhere close to making a cut, let alone a final decision. Quote Link to comment
