Ronaldo Out 10-15 Days After Injuring Hamstring

Real Madrid received some disturbing news in the aftermath of their impressive 7-0 win over Malaga on Thursday with star player Cristiano Ronaldo forced off the pitch after 77 minutes of play due to a hamstring injury.

The Portuguese striker netted a hat trick in the game, but after scoring his third, immediately signaled to the bench that he had to come off, and the player confirmed after the game he will be sidelined for a while.

"I hurt myself when I scored my third goal. I didn't want to risk anything with all the important games coming up so I limped off. The injury doesn't seem to be too serious though," Ronaldo told Spanish newspaper Marca.

Ronaldo underwent further examination on Friday and a scan has made it clear that the attacker will be unavailable for 10-15 days.

Kolo Toure Fails Drug Test; Unlikely To Play Again This Season

Manchester City face losing Kolo Toure for at least the rest of the season after the defender failed a drug test and was suspended indefinitely.

City and the FA confirmed on Thursday that the 'A' sample provided by Toure had tested positive for a “specified substance” and he will not be able to play again until the disciplinary process has been resolved.

The length of the ban will depend on the Ivorian's explanation as to how the substance found its way into his body, but Toure is expected to be sidelined for a number of months and is unlikely to feature again this season, with bans typically ranging from 3-9 months.

Report: Manchester United's Alex Ferguson Could Face 4 Match Ban Following His Criticism Of Referee Martin Atkinson

Sir Alex Ferguson could face a 4 match ban after being charged with improper conduct by the FA over his criticism of Martin Atkinson's officiating in Manchester United's defeat to Chelsea, according to reports. The Scot criticized a number of decisions from Atkinson, in particular, his failure to send off David Luiz in the second half after a series of fouls by the Brazilian.

Ferguson will meet with United’s disciplinary consultant, who could advise the 69 year old to admit the charge in order to keep the ban to a minimum. But the Daily Mirror is reporting Sir Alex may be hit with a substantial reprimand following his comments should he fail to admit his actions.

Jose Mourinho's Bodyguard Stabbed At Airport

Real Madrid have allegedly heightened club security following the stabbing of one of Jose Mourinho's security guards last weekend.

English newspaper The Guardian reports Real Madrid are considering changing policy after an attack that left a security guard wounded. Mourinho was making his way through Alvedro Airport when the incident happened but he was only informed of events on Friday. The injury to the security guard does not appear to have been serious. It is unclear whether Mourinho was the intended target. Real Madrid are awaiting the results of police investigation and CCTV footage is being studied.

According to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, Mourinho was making his way through a crowd of supporters who had gathered to welcome the team to La Coruña. He may have stopped to sign autographs. He was flanked by security staff, one of whom noticed a slight pain in his side. When he arrived at the coach, the security guard noticed that he had sustained a small cut of around 4 centimeters, believed to have been caused by a sharp object but not a knife.

Report: Tottenham To Sell All Of Their Strikers As Plans Of A Summer Overhaul

Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp wants to put all his strikers up for sale in the summer as he plans a $70 million overhaul of his frontline.

Tottenham's strikers have scored just 8 Premier League goals between them this season and Redknapp believes that a significant upgrade will enable them to mount a genuine title challenge next season. There is already a $30 million budget to bring in a big-name forward and the club could expect a further $40 million from the sale of their current strikeforce.

“Harry has had enough of his strikers and as far as he's concerned they can all leave in the summer,” a Spurs insider told Goal.com UK. “The lack of goals has been a big disappointment this season – it's clearly been the obvious weakness in the squad and he wants an upgrade.”
