killer cacti
On the other hand, what about the new western conference? I've already posted this else where but given the name of the thread.... This morning here in Austin, they were bandying about various names on one of the radio shows, when one of the hosts pointed out that since some of the teams were in the South....and some were in the far West....we should call it....The Southwest Conference! And no, I'm not making this up. I can't wait till we give you back to Mexico... :laughpound :laughpound Quote Link to comment
huskalova
If the Big X only takes Nebraska then it could be the Big XII. If the Pac Ten takes only the Buff's then it would be like the Big X was "the Pac Ten + one. Then the rest of the Big XII stands pat they could be the Big X... Kind like ring around the rosy!!! :laughpound Quote Link to comment

jaws
Seeing how the Big 10 currently has 12 schools in it (not counting Nebraska), I don't see them changing the name if Nebraksa does come aboard. Quote Link to comment
UGAHusker
I think it should be named the "Now we can finally beat the SEC" conference Not a good name; wouldn't be true. Quote Link to comment

NUance
Not the Big 10 I vote Big (X + n); so much more academic looking Big Hexadecimal 10. Nice techie ring to it, and works for 16 teams. Quote Link to comment

Read your own link. "The Big Ten Conference is the United States' oldest Division I college athletic conference. Its eleven member institutions are located primarily in the Midwestern United States, stretching from Iowa and Minnesota in the west to Pennsylvania in the east. " Quote Link to comment
