Husker football Day after thanksgiving

I see that the schedule is out for next year and we are NOT playing on Fri. This is wrong and I think that Husker Nation should lobby to move our game to Fri. Its not right, if IOWA can't play schedule someone else that wants to. We need to play on Fri.

Makes you think those Hawkeyes have no idea how good a Friday game would be for them....and our new rivalry with them.

I think this has more to do with television then it does with Iowa or Nebraska wanting or not wanting to play on friday. It might be worked out eventually to have it on Friday.

The thing is that the Big 10 doesn't play games on the Friday after thanksgiving. Then again, they don't have a Conference Championship Game but that will change with the arrival of Nebraska. I think the TV people and the Big 10 would be wise to have Nebraska and iowa play on that Friday. That way they wouldn't have to split audiences and everyone could watch both Nebraska vs. iowa and Ohio State vs. Michigan. That's the way to get the best ratings for those Big 10 games.

... on second thought, I have family in Iowa. We play Iowa on Thanksgiving week and ill never miss a game in that series!

The Nebraska - Iowa rivalry is going to be absolutely huge, whether it's on Friday or Saturday... I'd like to see it on Friday, but it's going to be a tremendous rivalry either way.

I already hate iowa football with all of my heart and we aren't even rivals yet. Such an annoying and cocky group of fans and undeservedly so! I can't wait to use them as a punching bag for years to come!!!

I am shocked. Didn't think we would give up that slot on Friday. It had become a great Thanksgiving tradition for us... The women go shopping and we travel to the game. Now I probably will be expected to wake up at 4:00 A.M. and drive the car for the door busters.

Everyone calm down. That slot hasn't been optioned yet. If ABC asks the Big 10 to televise that game then, it'll get switched.

 

Wait until the offseason for this to become an issue. Nothing is set in stone yet.

I'd love it if they moved it to Saturday so I don't have to use 1 of my vacation days every year so I can watch the game. Not everyone gets the day after Turkey Day off.

i worked retail for 9 years, so my schedule was always to show up at work at 3am, work from 3-1 for door buster sales, and then watch football the rest of the day. made for a long day, but totally worth it.

I heard Iowa doesn't want to play Friday because of parking concerns (something to do with the University Hospitals).

 

That, and they'd like another day to "tailgate"/pre-game.

My Inlaws are Hawkeye Fans.. If the game would be on Black Friday, it would be awesome. Unfortunately, I have to work being that I work in retail. I am so looking forward to the rivalries that will come out of the Big 10. Too bad Nebraska and Oklahoma couldn't tweak their schedules so that they play each year on the day after Thanksgiving. That is one tradition I would like to see continued. Thanks for nothing Big XII, I loved the Nebraska vs Oklahoma game so much more than Nebraska vs Colorado.
