The fumble thing that Pelini was ticked off about deserves some context. Last week against Missouri, we sacked their QB, he fumbled it on impact, was not called a fumble, they reviewed it, and then ruled forward progress. So you can understand Pelini being ticked off at the hypocrisy of Big 12 refs.

 

ISU played well. Both teams made a number of mistakes, and Nebraska came out on top. That's how it goes some days.

 

I can see what Bo was irate about on that situation. The ORIGINAL call was down by contact. But Rhodes pushed and pushed to get it changed to a fumble. Then the review took place where it's obvious there was no evidence to change the call either way. what is bs is how the ruling was changed BEFORE a review. Vintage Big 12 officiating. I am so ready for the Big 10, this conference is getting more desperate every week. congrats to I state, they dont win out i will be shocked.

Postgame notes:

- Excellent call by Bo electing to go into the wind in OT, ultimately won us the game

- Offensive play calling was par for the course. I do give SW a little credit for having to operate with the centerpiece of the offense, but as stated in this thread ealier his reliance on the weakside counter did become annoying.

- Lack of pass rush -- whether it be due to the two gap scheme, or just bad technique, our D-ends refuse to rush half a man on obvious passing downs. A team the caliber of ISU should not be able to come out in an empty backfield with 5WR. We have got win 1on1's up front, we'll be a dangerous defense if we can do that. I also tip my hat to Jason Ankrah who was able to force the crucial holding call, making a big impact on the game with limited time on the field.

- The O-line played their guts out. ISU knew we were running the ball and loaded up, yet our guys up front continued to get the job done.

- Niles had a big fumble, at the worst possible time. It's unfortunate because he really is a great player, but the mistakes are going to ultimately define his legacy as a husker. I'm still very confident at some point this season no. 24 is going win all of the naysayers over with an unbelievable performance.

I have sat right next to hundereds of istate students at two basketball games in lincoln up high and i have never heard so much crap come out the mouths of pretty boy college punks. You are obviously one of them from the way you act. Hell youre probable one of the 4 i wanted to meet me outside devaney to knock the hell out of. d___ you, now you have me all riled up. Iowa st. students rank right up with colorado and kstate in my experiences.

There was an angle that showed his knee was down but the network chose not to look at it. It was the one from behind the ISU defense. It zeroed in on the knee being down then a fumble. BS call. How about the 2 separate pick plays by ISU Wr's? Kyler Reed gets called for doing that against Uterus. ISU got a td that tied the game at 24. BS call.

again i defend the d line and the sceme of 2 gapin. the ONE time allen got upfield on a rush in over time it allowed arnaud to pick up big yards. This containing pass rush is why our defense is as successful as it is. remember last week with gabbert getting big yards scrambling cuz our dline was chasing him around all the time. keep the qb in the pocket and force him to throw it into our great secondary of 7 guys covering only 4-5 receivers at some point in time. I beleive in this plan, it worked all year last year mainly cuz Suh was able to go thru double teams and allowed the other 3 to get there by having only to beat one on ones consistently.

Oh so you know our whole fanbase and school. Ok I got it now. Dumbass. Husker fans are the worst in the Big 12 and soon to be the worst in the Big 10. It's going to be funny when you get completely shut out next year. And I'm going to laugh very, very hard.

Good game though seriously, both teams played not so well. Nebraska you need to work on fumbling. We need to work on passing/no interceptions.
