Hey all I've been coming to the board for around 3 years...just thought I'd start writing a few "columns" and see what you guys think...I may give some insight on other topics too...so read and enjoy...ill call the column 500 words or less :)(this is not how most columns would be...just thot id come up with something unusual)

What if Turner Gill...

(Alternate Reality January 2,1984 Miami, Florida- Nebraska trails Miami 30-31 with around 40 seconds left. "This is for the National Championship...Turner Rolls to his right...Throws it..Complete...Nebraska takes the lead! Nebraska takes the lead!" Nebraska eventually would hold on and defeat the Miami Hurricanes 32-31 on their way to a third national championship. In April of 1984 Turner Gill is drafted by the Buffalo Bills and leads them to four Super Bowl victories before retiring in 1992. Gill returns to Nebraska in 1992 and coaches quarterbacks while Osbourne wins one more National Championship in 1994. The Big 8 signs a contract proposed by Gill to keep the Big 8 together through 2010. Osbourne retires in 1996 with two national titles under his belt. Nebraska AD hires Turner Gill to become the next Head Coach at Nebraska. Turner struggles in his first two years with the Cornhuskers leading them to 8-5 records in 1997 and 1998 with two victories in the Holiday Bowl over USC and Arizona. In 1999 Turner jumps the Cornhuskers to number one and an undefeated season before the Cornhuskers are blown out by the Oregon Ducks 62-30. Turner's next six years are solid with records of 10-3, 11-2, 10-3, 9-4, 11-2, and 12-1. 2007 rolls around and Nebraska is said to be the best team of the year. But recruiting violations roll around and before one knows it Nebraska has lost 10 starters for the season before their first game. Turner is under the impression of recruiting violations for the rest of the season. When Steve Pederson decides to fire him in 2007, the whole Nebraska community looks at Gill with shame and disgust. Nebraska hires Bo Pelini in 2008, but due to violations Nebraska cannot play in a bowl game until the 2010 season. The mediocre Kansas Jayhawks hire Gill in late 2009 and it turns out Nebraska will play Kansas every year so it seemed. Then the Big 10 comes a calling and Nebraska joins without any regret. Nebraska takes down a mediocre big 8 schedule before their game against 3-6 Kansas in mid November. Kansas decides to start their third string quarterback Taylor Martinez against the Huskers. Martinez gashes the Blackshirt defense for 300 yards through the air and 200 on the ground. The Jayhawks obliterate the Huskers 45-10 in Lincoln. Nebraska limps into the Big 10 in 2011). Let's thank Turner for all he has done over the years. He took a Buffalo (college team) to a bowl game. He rejuvenated the Kansas Jayhawks after a sinister loss to South Dakota. In the end, he did a bunch for Nebraska. It may have been the play of Jammal Lord or it was the defense that everyone gave Bo credit for. After Frank was fired, who knows how close Turner was to being interim One more question. Who was the quarterbacks coach for our only Hesiman trophy winning quarterback? O yeah a man by the name of Turner Gill. (498)

Wow...you have a very vivid imagination. Did you have a couple cans of kool-aid before you wrote this? There is a lot of what if's in the Husker football vault. Hell, I enjoyed the read...Thanks for keeping it under 500 words though.

That dude is on more than kool-aid. Cool post though keep it up.

This must be the alternate reality with the Evil Turner Gill, right? It's a good thing Steve Pederson was there to clean house and save the day.
