HuskerJosh
Who will we have manning these positions next year? Brett Maher will be punter I believe Jason Dann for Kicker?? Niklas Sade is a 2 star recruit coming in next fall, ethier way nothing guarenteed by far and away. Kickers are always rated low. Hell, there are only like 10-15 that get scholarship offers each year according to Jeremy Crabtree. If we offered him, he's going to be good. Quote Link to comment

Great kickoff specialist, Best FG kicker ever in Neb history, good punter, entire secondary, helu, and paul (not sure if this is good or bad). Thats just off the top of my head, I know there is more. I don't think we're losing Dennard. Too much risk of an NFL lockout. And if you're talking about who's been starting lately, both Osborne and Cassidy will be back. Quote Link to comment
suh_fan93
Alex Henery has saved Nebraska so many times most notably the amazing kick in 08 against Colorado. The Okie State run for a first down was both hilarious and awesome all at once. To me he is the best kicker in the nation. One thing I know for sure, losing him will make our offensive coordinators job even harder since Henery truly has saved our butts on more than one occasion. I just hope he gets the memo. Sorry were losing Kunalic also. Quote Link to comment
huskertim
Henery is also such a great punter. It was speculated by an announcer last week that he could play both positions in the NFL and that would open up another roster spot to provide extra depth. That would be HUGE for whatever team got him. Here's to hoping Henery pins A&M inside the 10 two or three times!!! I could seriously see this, he hits consistently 40+ yards with above average hang time, if he could get a couple more tenths of hangtime on his punts he could be a serious dual threat K/P in the NFL. Anybody know if this has ever happened before and if so who was the last person to do it? Not entirely sure, but I think the last successful dual treat kicker in the NFL was Don Cockroft who played for the Browns for like a hundread years. I think he lasted until the early 80's. Dual threat was actually fairly common through the 60's and 70's.. Quote Link to comment
holvy83
Those 2 have been a big part of the Huskers success and will be missed. Quote Link to comment

We also return Osborne and Cassidy --- so both safeties and one of the two Cb's return. It is likely that we'll move to 3 lbers (a 4-3-4) as opposed to the 4-2-5 that we run this year. And 3/4 of the positions return in the secondary. So... 3/4 starters will be back on the DL (assuming that Crick stays... which he should) --- 3/4 of the secondary returns (sort of... yes, we'll really miss Hagg, Gomes and Amukamara ... but Dennard, Cassidy, Osborne and Evans return... and Corey Cooper and Andrew Green will be added in and both are supposed to be good... and Harvey Jackson is supposedly lighting it up in practice too.. so the secondary will be OK. At LB we lose no one... David, Compton, Whaley and Fisher all return. We'll be OK. The kickers will really be missed. Quote Link to comment
Chuck_G_23
we would have gotten shut out by iowa state last year too. Quote Link to comment
Spartness
Has Henery ever missed a PAT? I don't remember him missing one. Don't have time to read the whole thread, so sorry if this was already discussed. Quote Link to comment

Is there a PK right now on the college level that can match Henery with PATs? Quote Link to comment

Hskr86
one measure of how special Alex is, is how fast his eligibility years seem to have flown by! (doesn't it seem like he was 'a freshman walk-on' just last year!) Quote Link to comment
