no offence holvy, crick is a darn good player, but i would trade him for clayborn in a heartbeat

Well you wouldn't have to trade because they play different positions. ;) Clayborn is a DE while Crick is a DT.

Clayborn fell short in every statistical category but one this season compared to 2009.

Note: Bolded numbers are 2010 stats. Non-bolded numbers are 2009 stats.

Adrian Clayborn

51 tkl. . .70 tkl

9 tfl. . .23 tfl

4 sacks. . .12 sacks

1 pbu. . .2 pbu

1 ff. . .4 ff

6 qbh. . .9 qbh

1 blk. . .1 blk

Furthermore, Crick's stats this season are better than Clayborn's which is impressive considering Crick is an interior lineman. DE's typically produce more than DT's on average.

Jared Crick

60 tkl. . .73 tkl

14 tfl. . .15 tfl

7.5 sacks. . .9.5 sacks

1 pbu. . .4 pbu

9 qbh. . .16 qbh

Clayborn got this based only on a great 2009 season. This year he's been pretty disappointing. I lost count of how many times a tired Iowa offense gave up a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter, and a lot of Hawk fans accused him of basically quitting in the fourth quarter.

Not that I think Crick deserves first team either. Besides, Crick is a DT and Clayborn a DE. Do they specify or just take the best four DL?

Impressive numbers for an interior lineman. Crick would make a great DE too. Real quick off the ball and good footspeed. Like the big framed DEs we had ten years ago.

I agree. Wouldn't be surprised if some NFL team uses him as a DE.

they shouldnt lump them all together...... its so much easier to get stats as a DE. my question is what DT has had a better year? I'm sure there is someone, but I doubt there is more that 2-3 guys.

http://www.huskers.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=100&ATCLID=205038793 didn't see this on here and it is kind of interesting.....makes me wonder if we could get a Samoan all american team.....i could thing of a good Samoan Quarterback and Running Back to be nominated.....also my best friend just led the Big South in Sacks as a freshman at gardner-webb but thats division 1 AA so i don't think that counts.....would be funny to create an all-american team by ethnicity tho....and for the record there is no racism here just some sociological perspectives.
