The Maudfather
Has been completely underwhelming thus far...What happened to PJ Smith/Osborne? Quote Link to comment
bleedNUred
I'm curious as to why Osborne and Smith haven't played as well... Quote Link to comment
whateveritis1224
One thing that's known is that Cassidy is very knowledgeable of the defense. I'm still watching the game, but I've barely noticed Cassidy. Quote Link to comment
krc1995
Cassidy seems to lack some athletetism. Quote Link to comment
Hammerhead
Has been completely underwhelming thus far...What happened to PJ Smith/Osborne? Â Quite frankly, most of our defense has been completely underwhelming thus far. Â Time to step it up, Blackshirts. Quote Link to comment

Quite frankly, most of our defense has been completely underwhelming thus far.  Time to step it up, Blackshirts. Agreed. Everyone lost their minds over the offense last week. I thought the defense kind of played like crap both games now. Last week was masked by Stafford's big hit and Camstache's big plays. That God we have David. Quote Link to comment
n.e.husker
I always thought PJ was our best pass defending safety. Quote Link to comment
huskerbronco1997
i seem to remember a lot of people saying the same think about Matt O Hanlon. Everyone needs to take a step back and look at his play overall not just one game, he did have a huge pick six last year against ISU. He is a very solid safety will he make the great play probably not but he knows the position better than anyone we have. Lets not forget Stafford, although great in run support had some blown coverage as well, Fresno just didnt take advantage of it. As for PJ i am hoping once Dennard is back they move Evans to nickel and PJ can maybe play some dime because i do think he is the best coverage safety we have so he could possibly help out as the dime back, but that probably wont happen. typ3kal
Austin is not the most athletic but he might be the brightest kid on the team. Quote Link to comment
notgoodatmath
Austin was in position to tackle that dude on the punt return TD, but was blatantly held. also, he did a nice job of running down that WR after the busted coverage on the long pass in the 4th quarter Quote Link to comment
ADS
Austin got burned once from what I could see, he's a good football player just not as athletic as some other players. Quote Link to comment
notgoodatmath
DBs get burned once in a while, especially when the opponent is moving the ball on the ground...it makes the play-fake pretty effective. i think zero big plays allowed is a bit much to expect Quote Link to comment
