dutch91701
So I take it the purpose of this topic is to make it clearnone of us should dare point out what's happening out on the field? Callahan coached in the Super Bowl. Cosgrove was at Wisconsin for decades. Pretty good coaching credentials huh? I guess the coaching staff, any coaching staff, is like the Pope, incapable of error and above criticism. Using this line of reasoning, none of us is qualified to judge a car is a clunker without a degree in Automotive Engineering. Callahan and Cosgrove wasted 4 years of our time. That was a completely different situation. This is a thread to poke fun at those who are overreacting about the play of the defense so far. You can point out what's happening on the field without douching up the forums, but people have been acting like we're the worst team in the history of college football because of a few games that did not live up to Nebraska's insanely high standards. This is simply not true. You're upset about people overreacting/exaggerating and here you are doing the same. No where on this forum has anyone even hinted we are the worst team in the history of college football. We've mearly pointed out that the defense is below par right now and will be in big trouble against a good offense. I didn't see a half dozen threads created about wyoming shredding our defense. I'm sure somebody thought they would but the vast majority knew the defense was sharp enough to shut down wyoming. We're average right now. But what else should we be talking about? 2 Quote Link to comment

There's a difference between exaggerating and overreacting. I was exaggerating. Most people on this board are overreacting (i.e. 3+ touchdown loss predictions). Nobody said we're the worst team in college football, but that sounds just as ridiculous as saying we're going to lose by 21 points to a team we know nothing about, other than that they can beat up on a bunch of nobodies. Vizsla1
I always get confused on these types of posts. Is it irony, sacasm, oxymoron, or paradox? Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
I went to Old Chicago in the Haymarket. I ate an entire Nachos Grande platter. Then I ate a Meat Me calzone and four mozzarella sticks. Quote Link to comment

HUSKERCR
"Callahan and Cosgrove wasted 4 years of our time. That was a completely different situation." They both had the coaching credentials you seem to feel are necessary to be infallible. As far as applicability, ever hear of "Shawn Watson"? Quote Link to comment
HSKRNATION
Since the general consensus of the board is that the Pelinis have forgotten how to coach defense, I've decided to make this thread for the good of the fans and team. Those of you who are all-knowing, superior beings when it comes to football, please post your coaching credentials here. We can then link this thread to Nebraska staff and hopefully we can get someone in the position that knows what they're doing because we clearly need to replace these Pelini clowns. I play NCAA 2011 on X-box and I am as a career 34wins-47loss. My defense won most of the 34 games. I would consider myself a defensive specialist. Quote Link to comment
