HuskerBCS
I didn't watch the game but heard that OSU was 1-4 passing for 17 yards. They ran the ball 51 times and won 17-7 today. Can anyone shed a little insight into how this game went down? OSU was also 3-12 on 3rd down conversions. Did OSU just go 3 and out most of the game and then had like 3 drives where they went the length of the field? Im just confused how you can only throw the ball 4 times and only complete 1 pass and win by 10 points. Weird game looking at the stats. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
Looks like they are playing just like we did in 09. Relying heavily on a dominating defense and hoping the offense can get 14-17 points which should be enough. Quote Link to comment
Hercules
They simply dominated the game. I don't remember the scoring drives very well, but they had a few big runs and a few takeaways, and Illinois didn't score until late in the 4th quarter, when OSU was already up 17-0. They didn't need to throw the ball, Illinois couldn't score. Quote Link to comment
Omaha-Husker
Their defense was simply dominant. It makes what Nebraska did last week all that much more impressive. I am glad Herron was suspended last week too. He is a real talent at RB. Quote Link to comment
Scarlet Overkill
Only saw the last few minutes, but Zook reminded me a lot of Pinkel with his decision making prowess. Quote Link to comment
NUance
Man, everyone is bagging on Zook for going for it on 4th down. The thing is, they were on about the 20 yd line with a couple of minutes to go in the game. And 10 pionts down, so they had to score twice. I agree with Zook on this one. Illinois best chance was to convert the 1st down from there and driving into the endzone. Then kick a long FG. Quote Link to comment
irafreak
Yeah but I also understand the other side. You don't convert you just took yourself out of the game. Quote Link to comment
It'sNotAFakeID
Yeah but I also understand the other side. You don't convert you just took yourself out of the game. Exactly. You kick the FG, you at least remain in the game. Quote Link to comment
