SwingingGate
We don't have the LB's to compete in the B1G, but we have the top LB in the B1G? Quote Link to comment
HuskerShark
I would have to say that Hightower from Bama wins this award, the dude is awesome! LaVonte is awesome too, but I don't see him beating out Hightower. Quote Link to comment
Chaddyboxer
Where's the highly touted Chris Borland from Wisconsin!? Hmmm....not trying to make fun of the young man, but he seems like a solid LB...I wouldn't say he is better than David though. Quote Link to comment

AngryHusker88
We don't have the LB's to compete in the B1G, but we have the top LB in the B1G? David is the top LB in the country IMO, & he was the top LB last year as well IMO Quote Link to comment
Hammerhead
I wouldn't be surprised if Hightower gets it just because he plays for Alabama, but hopefully David will be in the top 3. Quote Link to comment
Animal_Mother
I was happy to hear this the other day on the radio. Whether he wins or not is beyond me since I really do not follow how these awards are voted on/selected. I do know that it is a real joy watching him play. Quote Link to comment
Hoosker
Gotta love Lavonte. He represents the University tremendously on and off the field. He's surrounded by some good players on that list. It'd be hard for him to take it home with Hightower and Burfict on there. Quote Link to comment
308_Husker
Get David a blackshirt. Even if that means handing it out to only one player. He's really the only player that deserves one so far this season. Quote Link to comment
knapplc
David was named a Finalist today. Quote Link to comment
ladyhawke
David was named a Finalist today. Excellent! When do the results come out? Quote Link to comment
knapplc
"On or before December 7th," according to the press release. Quote Link to comment
robsker
Lavonte David is indeed a blast to watch. He has it all. Grit. Toughness. Heart. Violence. And... he plays smart, efficient and with great technique. Great player and wonderful Husker. Way to Go Lavonte and the sky is the limit for you. We'll cheer for you on Sundays wherever you go. Glad you were a Husker --- and we hope you win the award... certainly you deserve it. Quote Link to comment
Igetbored216
Lavonte David is an amazing player. He made an impact upon arriving and it's too bad (for us) we don't get him longer. Unfortunately for David, I don't think he will win. Not because he's not as good as the others on the list, but because our defense was just not very good, so that kind of unfairly reflects on his season. Quote Link to comment
