HuskerFowler
Glad we have alot of depth on the dline. Per KETV channel 7 of all places. Looked everywhere on here figured it would have been news hours ago here. Move if needed. Quote Link to comment
stlspartan
At first I thought this thread was about a player from MSU. I was thinking - "crap - we just get Gholston back and now Thad Randle is .... wait second, who's Thad Randle?" I hope he's ok. Quote Link to comment
True2tRA
Randle is a damn good player. That said, I hope to see Chase Rome and Jay Guy get a lot of action this weekend. Damn this is a big game. Quote Link to comment
HuskerCarter
knee injury, unknown how long he will be out. More snaps for Jay Guy. Quote Link to comment
n.e.husker
Good thing DT is one of our deepest positions. Quote Link to comment
bbhusker
Baker Steinkuhler needs to take his game to another level. I have never really been that impressed with him honestly. Too bad for T.R though, tough game to miss. And hopefully it is only this one. Quote Link to comment
SnowBigRed
Baker is one of the most overrated players in recent memory. I honestly can't remember someone with 5* talent that starts as a sophomore that is more unproductive, yet continues to start every game (Fisher somewhat comes to mind though). The younger guys just not any better? Quote Link to comment
kchusker_chris
^ we just expect every d-lineman to play at the level of Suh - not gonna happen. move on. 1 Quote Link to comment
The Dude
Steinkuhler is a bust. No one expects him to play at Suh's level. But he should have made some kind of impact at this point in his career. He's been a huge disappointment. Quote Link to comment
Stumpy1
I think Stein has been more disruptive then Crick from the get go of the season. At time, he does get pushed around but all of our dline has. Quote Link to comment

Now that may not changed the opinion that he has underachieved, but just wanted to throw that out there. Quote Link to comment
da skers
Glad we have alot of depth on the dline. Per KETV channel 7 of all places. Looked everywhere on here figured it would have been news hours ago here. Move if needed. Most places had something early Wednesday morning if not during the middle of the previous night. I guess there isn't much to say about it except I think only missing one game is overly optimistic depending on what the official diagnosis is. Quote Link to comment
kchusker_chris
just a different line - different defense. if Stein is a bust then this entire DL is a bust as well. (crick included) - remember in 2009 when our starting 4 combined for 261 tackles? or 2010 when they notched 245? (or even 08 when it was around 220?) our starting 4 are sitting at about 80 right now (including adjustment for Crick). our starting DL will be lucky to rack up 160 tackles this year. 65% of the production of prior years? If that isn't a telling sign of a "shift" in philosophy then I don't know what is. It's across the board as well. Everyone is WAY off pace from their production the last couple of years. Cam's the only one that might come close. i've got no idea why there is such a disparity - especially when teams are running at us more. We aren't playing teams that put the ball in the air 50 times a game anymore. if anything our DL tackles should be UP. they aren't though. sacks are down. TFLs are down. did Bo's added involvement in the D make that big of a difference the last couple of years? Did Carl's coaching the DL have that big of an impact? Is JP coaching the DL different? Is special teams coordinator, recruiting coordinator AND coaching ends/interior too much for 1 guy. Quote Link to comment

Different defensive schemes and I'd also put some blame on guys playing bigger and not having adjusted. Quote Link to comment

I hope Jay Guy gets very little action. I don't care what his potential is, but someone who just now made the travel squad probably shouldn't be seeing significant time in such a big game like this against a tough opponent, especially when Chase Rome and T-Mo are better at the moment and have more experience.
