Muck
Apparently Autzen is loud or something, and its big...like Indiana big. ...and we all know which home game Indiana uses for their overhead stadium shot in the media guide each year. Oops forgot to mention... as an Ohio State fan I couldn't in good conscience vote for Ohio Stadium being that it isn't an away venue for us so my vote went with Wisconsin. While throwing bags of urine > dumping beers from the stands Camp Randall still gets the nod for on the field results. Quote Link to comment

huKSer
I think a good measure is comparing how teams do at home against how they do on the road. Wisconsin Badgers (2004-2011) at home: 50-4, 0.926 away: 24-16, 0.600 Nebraska Cornhuskers (1986-2001) at home: 100-5, 0.952 away: 58-15-1, 0.791 So clearly the Badgers benefit from playing at home now more than the Huskers of old did. I'd say that, in some ways, means they have a better home-field advantage than NU did but its arguable. Thirty posts down before I found the winner - home field advantage means doing better at home (than away) But superior teams win home and away, so their difference is smaller. Don't know why you picked two different time spans for the two teams. NU for the 2004-2012 span at home: 41-15, 0.73 away: 20-19, 0.51 or if you wish: NU for under whats-his-name 2004-2007 at home: 18-9, 0.67 away: 7-13, 0.35 Under the worst coach at NU since Jennings, Nebraska won at twice the rate at home compared to on the road NU for Bo 2008-2012 at home: 23-6, 0.79 away: 13-6, 0.68 With a better coach, better teams, the gap closes. Excel
That's a good point KS. When a team is good enough they reach a natural ceiling so it may be unfair to say those Husker teams had less of a homefield advantage than UW now. I picked that time period because those years were thrown out earlier. 5 Quote Link to comment

That's a good way of looking at it. It would be even better if you eliminated the home-and-home nonconf games from consideration. Quote Link to comment
