corncraze
I think Denver needs to look at a RB in this draft. Burkhead playing for my Broncos would be one of the coolest things ever. I would take Montee Ball, or Leveon Bell from Michigan State as well, but I think Burkhead is better than both of them. If we do get him, the day that Burkhead blue and orange jersey is sewn together, you can guarantee I'll have one on my back. Sign me up!!! Sweeeeet! Quote Link to comment
corncraze
As long as Burkhead doesn't end up in Oakland or Denver, I'm good. Quote Link to comment
Mavric
As long as Burkhead doesn't end up in Oakland or Denver, I'm good. For him to end up in Oakland, that would mean the Raiders actually made an intelligent draft choice. Don't think you have to worry there. Quote Link to comment

Last year 18 RBs were drafted. Couldn't really find rankings from other major media outlets. Walter Camp: #18 LINK OptimumScouting: #31 LINK I'll bet he's a late second day guy. Maybe the 14th through 16th RB chosen. Rex will pass up several backs before him based on work ethic and character. : Quote Link to comment
Enhance
Martin doesn't surprise me too much, but Cotton and especially Compton do. I'm also a bit surprised that Stafford was invited over PJ Smith. I suppose teams know Stafford lays the wood and want to know how he does in drills and assignments. I'd go for Stafford over Smith plus Stafford had a few more highlight-type plays. I feel like Stafford always had trouble with blown assignments here. From his very first game through Wisconsin in the CCG. Great hitter, but that doesn't cut it in the pros. I completely agree. My friends and I had a running joke with Stafford the entire year. It seemed that for every good play they had with Stafford, they were a solid lock for a 15 yard penalty or a badly blown assignment. The man missed more tackles than I can count on one hand in the B1G championship game. A friend of mine was working the CCG for the press and said even the out-of-state reporters were having a good laugh at Stafford. Granted, the entire defense looked awful, but Stafford looked especially awful, and his mistakes are compounded when he's the last line of defense and is depended upon to stop the big play. And it wasn't just the CCG. As I said, he was responsible for a personal foul penalty one or sometimes two times a game, as well as badly blown assignments. He's simply a very inconsistent player. Lacks discipline, focus, and solid fundmental play at times. The fact that he got a combine invite over a guy like Martin, who even though he didn't see as many snaps is still a better play imho) is baffling. Quote Link to comment
NU jumper alum
Stafford's going to be a good special times player with his hitting ability. So will Emart. Quote Link to comment

I'd only say that, while Smith might have been more consistent he was consistently mediocre. Quote Link to comment

I dont know that that's anything to brag about beins kickoffs and punts are going to be non existant at all levels of football within the next five years. Yes, it's going to happen.
