Purdue is playing pretty well right now, but they are still the match up I was hoping for. Michigan plays Penn St round one. Interesting combo. Winner of Illinois Minnesota round 1 will get IU, both of which beat them in dramatic fashion earlier this season. Quote Link to comment

While I would love to be able to see the Huskers in the NIT, I am not sure that it will happen since there has never been a sub 500 team involved before. Not that a 500 record or better is part of the qualification any longer, but just because it has never happened. We have been to the NIT many of times with our best showing in 1996 as NIT Champions.
