Scratchtown
I know this may not be a smart question but I wanted to get everyone's opinion. If Taylor is QB'ing this game, is the Nebraska offense as efficient? Personally I say no, because of how HESITANT Taylor is. Quote Link to comment
Flood
I agree with you. A lot of this season may be determined by how TM recovers from the turf toe injury. Even so, the performance we're seeing today may point to us being very well prepared for the future with Armstrong. Looks like he has been well developed. Quote Link to comment
Hayseed
It's hard to tell if Armstrong is better than Martinez because of the level of competition. The only way to find out is to play Armstrong every play for the rest of the season except when Kellogg is in , so that's what Pelini should do. I've heard those "turf toe" injuries can last for an entire season and we wouldn't want to hurt Taylor's chances for a pro career with a lingering injury that isn't able to heal right. I dont buy the level of competition part. SDSU is FAR better than Southern Miss. They are not far off from Wyoming probably. They are the 6th best team in the FCS. They are better than probably a 3rd of the FBS teams. This offense is MUCH better with Armstrong. Hell, it even looks better with Kellogg because of a much more competent passer. I'm sorry, but Taylor may be-or in my eyes, should be-done. 2 weeks of qb talk folks. Get ready. Mods will have the merge buttons workin overtime. 1 Quote Link to comment

Hayseed
You all can think what you want, but I'm not ready to concede that Armstrong is better until I see him play every down except the ones that Kellogg plays! Quote Link to comment

Hayseed
I'm not handing over the reins over a game like this. Exactly...we'll need Armstrong to play every game before we decide....then next year we'll pick the best qb. Quote Link to comment
Count 'Bility
The offense was more fluid under Armstrong. Under Kellogg as well. With Armstrong, I hadn't seen a Nebraska offense be that fluid, that consistent (minus fumbles), that ruthless, and that multiple since god knows when. It hasnt happened in the Pelini era, that I'll guaran damn tee ya. Did we even punt today? We literally did whatever we wanted to. FCS? That's gonna be a big word the next couple weeks, but this is one of the top FCS teams. Theyre better than So Miss. Not even close. We'll see what happens, but as I halfway anticipated, this management today by Tommy is going to be hard to ignore and just blindly throw Taylor back in there when he's healthy just because he's the #1 guy. sd'sker
yup. and ta is the future. invest in him. we do not miss much, if any. and the problem is the defense. until that is fixed, it really does not matter who is under center. Quote Link to comment
presidentjlh
It is nice to see that one side of the ball looks like it has solved its issues, barring the turnovers that is, which are still frustrating. The thing about our defense is that it doesn't even need to be great. Just good. Quote Link to comment
Scratchtown
I felt that the whole offense played harder with both guys back there rather than martinez. Thoughts? maybe I'm naive? Quote Link to comment

Thoughts? maybe I'm naive? the offense looked better, no question about that. but i think they just play hard. and i think there is a lot of loyalty to t-mart. they just want to play well and win. imo.
