hskrfan4life
How was your experience? Did you encounter any issues with students or drunk fans? For me, the experience was amazing. I went with my fiance, we drove up Friday and left Sunday. Walked around state street for awhile on Friday night, had no issues. Walking around campus and the stadium on Saturday only got booed once. Met some other Husker fans by our seats. Overall, didn't have many issues during or after the game. Stayed around for the "Jump Around" which is crazy when you can feel the entire stadium shake. We went to a pizza place by the hotel after the game and got apologized to by an elderly couple for the blowout. Which isn't a big deal. They stated they didn't expect it. Overall, it was a great time. That stadium can get loud! I wasn't a big fan of the students chanting "F*CK YOU" and "Eat My $h!t" back and forth, but what can you do. If you made the trip, how was your experience? Quote Link to comment
Abdullah the Butcher
Jump around was pretty awesome, as was the student section singing songs. Had a few douchey fans but overall they were alright. Definitely a better in game atmosphere than Memorial. Quote Link to comment
NUpolo8
We need to let the "bad fan" thing go. I had a great time, any "abuse" I got was good natured and part of being a rival.....as much of a rival as we can be to them. Any complaining that we are "classier" is us desperately trying to hang on to something that has left us a long time ago. Overall, your typical Wisconsin fan now acts no different than the typical Nebraska fan in the late 90's. Quote Link to comment
darkhorse85
I had no issues. I think the Jump Around thing is kind of stupid but that's just my opinion. Sawing Varsity's horns off is much more impressive to me. The trip wasn't a complete failure. I did come home with $200 worth of beer and cheese. Quote Link to comment
RotoRiot
Had a few students try and get us to react after the game and i responded nicely and got a "you guys are to nice" Quote Link to comment
QMany
The students and student section were the only disappointing part. Before the game, we encountered a good amount who were drunk and belligerent for no reason to random Nebraska fans old and young. Just walking down the street yelling "F^(# YOU!" type harassment. Start of the game, they were no where to be found. Start of the second quarter, half full. They never filled. I guess they validate themselves to some by jumping around for 3 minutes. I met some really nice older Badger fans and shared a good amount of beers and stories. It was a fun trip and pretty cool city. Quote Link to comment
Huskerzoo
Last trip to Madison and this trip were complete opposite for me. Had a great time with the badger fans standing next to me. Folks outside the stadium were nice. Really impressed this go round. Quote Link to comment

This has been the MO for the student section for as long as I can remember. They'll show up on time for the really big ones (OSU in 2010, Nebraska in 2011, not sure why this one didn't qualify) but other than that, it takes until the second quarter to fill up completely. Administration has tried various enticements over the years, to pretty much no avail. I think they've accepted it for what it is. Also doesn't help that UW police herd students into their seats one at a time. Quote Link to comment
RotoRiot
Anyone in sec AA? Quote Link to comment
CheeseHusker
The F-You, Eat Sh-T thing goes back to at least the late 1980s. It's juvenile but harmless. But they've always done it. I'm glad things weren't too ugly this time. I got off pretty lightly amongst my own circles of friends and family. I think most people were too surprised at what happened to really absorb it. If anything, I probably irritated more of our own with some of my tweets. Quote Link to comment

Well, to be somewhat fair to the students, the policy of escorting each student to his or her seat causes bottlenecking and backup, making it take way longer than necessary to fill up the sections. It's also a really really stupid policy. Quote Link to comment
