KSU reaction to Callahan statement.

Recommended Posts

I think that was the guy trying to sell me a car a couple years back. :sarcasm

I dont have any problem with Callahans statement. Everyone is saying it was directed at Josh, did anyone think that it might be directed at his dad aswell?

They are both adult men who are responsible for their actions. Look at it from Calli s point of veiw instaed of fealing sorry for the Freemans.

People are so fickle, There's always going to be people who are criticizing you from both sides. What he said is right on the mark, these kid's want to be treated like adults and when your an adult and in the public eye there is going to be reprucutions when you do chickensh#t things. It;s better to be loved for who or what you are than for who or what your not.

IMO, whether Freeman is an adult or not is irrelavant. It would not change my opinion of this if he were talking about another head coach or parent. Callahan should be a role model for his players and he is a representitive of the University of Nebraska. Though his words may be truthful and heartfelt, he still needs to show a little decisiveness in why and what he chooses to say publicly. He needs to keep in mind that these comments affect more than just his reputation (i.e hillbillies, throat slashing incedents). These look bad for Nebraska.

I'm sure the Bobfather never said anything bad about another University in a public setting. This is being made into a way bigger thing then it should be. Just because "boring" ole TO wouldn't have done this doesn't mean it is a bad thing.

That would make it an appropriate thing to do? Also, Devaney did not coach during a time with the the vasts amounts and types of media coverage (ESPN, FSN, 24hr news channels, internet news sites, just to name a few). Callahan is being watched all of time.

This is being made into a way bigger thing then it should be.

Callahan has made it into a big thing by continuously making these types of remarks and gestures.

Just because "boring" ole TO wouldn't have done this doesn't mean it is a bad thing.

I guess we simply have different views on how a coach should represent himself, school, players, fans, and state. If you think it is a venue for name calling, smack-talking, and pot shots then that is your right. I simply expect more class than that.

I think this is a positive as far as team chemisry goes. The players will see that Callahan is 100% devoted to them, making him someone they want to play for. I think most players would be glad he's sticking up for the team.

Just curious, but how was BC sticking up for the team by insulting Freeman? I think that there are plenty of other ways of earning player respect. Are you saying that the team would not be 100% behind him if he did not do this kind of stuff?

I just love Do-Gooders, Bible Bangers, Soccer Moms and people who speak about class ETC who are offended over everything.

I hope nobody was offended by BC's actions. A little embarrassed maybe.

How is it living in fear and being offended by the littlest thing

A good and honest question. Refer it to red-state voters.

I'm glad we have a coach that is a real person and speaks his mind and takes it personal when a punk kid spurns us.

Yes, he may be a real person and took it personal, both of these are honest and respectful attributes. A wise person once said "choose your battles". What possible good comes out of starting contest between himself and Freeman? He either looks like a sore loser or a hot-headed bully. Classy would have just wishing Freeman the best.

If our ancestors wouldn't have spoke up and fought for themselves we would still be under English Rule.

If BC hadn't of spoke out, we would still be under Josh Freeman rule! We are know free, thanks Bill!

People like the above mentioned are f'ing PATHETIC!!!!

Do-Gooders, Bible Bangers, Soccer Moms and people who speak about class ETC who are offended over everything? Or those who are offended by the easily offendible? Or people who get bent out of shape over soccer moms. The strange part of your statement is, our ancestors came here and fought to be free to bible-bang. Quite the conundrum :dumdum

I am certainly not upset with a comment like this being made for a few reasons. One is the manner in which Freeman decommited. Many have said that he is a child and I believe that that is the case for many 17 yr olds, so I wont hold him accountable there, but his father was ultimately the one who set up the visit, who controlled Freeman's recruitiment, and who should have been the one to call up Callahan himself and explain to him why Freeman was looking elsewhere, and why he ended up going to K-State. None of this was done, therefore I see this comment as being a shot at Mr. Freeman more so than Josh.

I dont have a problem with Josh chosing to go to K St, if he doesnt want to be at NU, dont go there. I do have a problem how it was handled. He and his father should have been men about it, and told billy slash personally, that is classless. Maybe if billy slash was a better recruiter and actually had 2 or 3 highly rated qb recruits last year, he wouldnt be so bitter about losing this one.

Secondly, this is not national news... The only people who are even aware that these comments were made are people in the states of Nebraska and Kansas and possibly in some other big twelve states.

1) Youre wrong

2) What does it matter if it is a "local story" or a "national story"?? I can see K St or other schools using that quote to beat NU out of recruits. billy slash has made a habit of making classless, idiotic comments, maybe he should take a class in etiquette and manners.

It doesnt matter if Callahan was a saint, the coaches and players in teh big twelve are not going to give him the same kind of respect that they gave TO.

Nor does he deserve it.

We are getting more positive publicity this summer than we have had since 2001 honestly at the national level, so I am not concerned about a little comment that Callahan made to some local reporters.

So why risk putting a black eye on the positive publicity??? :dumdum

P.S. I dont agree with alot of the actions that our President takes, and will be the first to tell you which, but there is a big difference. I don't get to pick what country I live in,

Again you are wrong, dead wrong. You have the freedom to leave at any time, nobody is forcing you to stay. Actually, if you dont love the USA, you are one of the major problems with this country, and I beg you to leave.

and if I could it wouldn't be in this one at this point.

While the USA is not perfect and has its problems, it is THE BEST country in the history of this world. Go to France, Canada, or some other socialist honey-hole.

If you dislike the coach and the administration, move to another team.

Or do what you can to fix the one you enjoy.

That is a really stupid analogy that I am tired of you making.

Its not exact, but its similiar. Im sorry you lack the intellect to understand the analogy.

Wow, that is the stupidest and most idiotidict coment i have heard since coming to this sight. Go to France.... Yeah, that would solve all of the world's problems. I do beileve that this is the best country for activating change, as this is the most democratic, but this is by no mean perfect.... I can't help it that alot of the people in this country don't agree with me, and as a matter of fact, i don't ask them to agree with me, though apparantly you do. I have the "freedom" to leave anytime??? Right..... I am certainly not the problem for aspiring to something better than what we currently have, and I seriously disagree with the assumption that anyone who doesn't love what the current administartion does doesn't love his or her country. I love what the the fore fathers of this country stood for, and that is freedom, which is what our current president is taking away from you if you are too dull to realize that, and respect for the minority and for people in general, which is also being disregarded. None of this has anything to do with college football, though you seemingly try to bring it into the conversation every f'ing time. I was born an American, I choose to be a Husker fan.... I do the best to change what I can about this country, I do the best I can to support the team that I choose to be a part of.... Get the difference, or continue to be incompetent. How can you defend my right to disagree with the presiden, than tell me to move to France in the next post moron.... :dumdum
