TGHusker
:snacks: Sometimes I'm just too tired to add anything - boy this election can't get over with soon enough. (Yes, I know Hillary wishes that too before some more wikis come out. Opps I added something ) Link to comment
zoogs
Like firing a 9-win coach to hire a perennial bottom dweller coach with a losing career record? Seems to be working out well Donald Trump is Mike Riley in this analogy? The career politician universally respected by his peers, but not without past controversies and failures or the suggestion that they were too settled into a comfortable job to operate at a high level? No. Hillary Clinton is a lot closer to Mike Riley in this analogy. Donald Trump is Stephen A. Smith. The fact the emails come from Russia is a conspiracy theory. It is just as valid as the most recent conspiracy that the FBI is leaking the emails themselves via WikiLeaks over anger of being blocked by the DOJ. Both most likely wrong. Both equally valid statements. Can you back this up? -- I appreciate your discussion, Atbone. For the record, we've not discussed politics before very much, but from all the recruiting and football talk, I think you're aces. And I very much look forward to some continuing policy-oriented debates here, both before and after the election. As I said, I'm always game for that. Please do stick around this forum. There's a lot of quality discussion to be had 2 Link to comment
knapplc
Because Donald is not a career politician, and he does not nor will he take a dime from big business to influence his leadership should he be elected. You mean like Sheldon Adelson? Because I have bad news for you... Adelson pours $25 million into White House race, more may be coming The first major contribution came as Trump visited Adelson’s Venetian resort and casino in Las Vegas for a rally with supporters on Sunday. Trump praised Adelson and his wife, Miriam, without any reference to the money that went to the Super PAC. “I’d like to thank the owner of this great hotel, and his incredible wife – she’s an incredible woman – Sheldon Adelson,” Trump said to cheers. “Really incredible people and they’ve been so supportive and we appreciate it.” Here's a list of major donors, to both Donald & Hillary. http://www.ibtimes.com/who-donates-trump-clinton-list-richest-campaign-contributors-includes-hedge-fund-2440008 This idea that Trump is financially independent and not beholden to anyone is a fantasy. 5 Link to comment
TGHusker
Speaking of Adelson money and that of others, we are about to see the sh** hit the fan over the next few days. Massive spending for Ad time. Trump is pouring $25m in to Michigan (wonder were that came from) and Hillary is doing the same. One think about living in a state in which it is pretty much decided, you don't get flooded by all of these adds. Good luck watching football - for every minute of game time their will be 30 sec of political ads. http://www.bloomberg.com/politics/articles/2016-11-02/clinton-heads-back-to-long-safe-michigan-as-race-grows-tighter Link to comment

TAKODA
Keep on keeping on Atbone! You are scoring points showing Hillary's faults, while Knapp and Zoogs (non-Hillary supporters) keep scoring points showing DT's faults. I tied my shoes tight, so when I go out to vote, I won't lose my shoes because my feet are moving so fast! (I'm so excited about the future leadership of our country). What a time to be alive! Moiraine
https://twitter.com/NateSilver538/status/793883429922336769Crazeh. Clinton now has to cling to Virginia and NH and PA to win. And not have any surprise losses (e.g. Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Colorado) She can lose Nevada, Florida, Ohio and North Carolina as long as she keeps the above. Link to comment
zoogs
For what it's worth, Sam Wang has a very different confidence level in the election results: http://election.princeton.edu/electoral-college-map/ I hope he's right. Link to comment
Moiraine
Virginia is now blue on 270towin, which means Clinton is leading for 258 electoral votes. She needs Wisconsin (grey on their map) and New Hampshire or Maine. Link to comment

TGHusker
I heard this morning that a spokesperson for the FBI said that regardless of election results, the investigation into Hillary's emls will proceed. If Hillary is elected, we will have years of investigations. I heard this morning that half the country will move to Canada if Trump is elected. OK, I didn't hear that but I predict the feeling will be there. Link to comment
zoogs
When people criticize right-wing media programming, Fox News is merely part of an ensemble. It's one distribution vehicle for more or less the same kind of stuff. There are many others. That's a separate topic, I think, from the criticism of 24-hour cable news networks themselves. Congratulations to anyone who doesn't put up with that! -- (EDIT) Didn't feel like starting a new thread for this, but wanted to add this article to the mix: Neocon and GWB speechwriter David Frum: "Do it for the Republic. And the Constitution." Link to comment
