zoogs
BRB -- I truly, truly hope you are right. One thing I do think is clear: we need to be better, as an electorate. All of us. No individual can claim a higher moral standing because of our personal vote or choice because we ultimately live in a shared society, whose direction and leadership we all contribute to. If we don't collectively effect improvement, there's a danger we'll be back here soon before long -- and that the next time, we will go off the edge. 1 Link to comment

knapplc
I just wonder what's going to happen to the Trump brand name after this and when his new television network launches. His properties are already taking a fiscal hit because of his campaign and his behavior being exposed. But attaching the label of loser to all of his other labels is just going to magnify the stench... It'll be interesting to see where he goes from here. I legit thought he'd have bailed by now. To this day I don't think he wants to be president. If he loses he'll do his spin thing, and he'll try to launch from campaign to other endeavors, all the while trying to enhance the Trump brand. His followers don't think he's done/doing anything wrong so far, despite all evidence to the contrary, so maybe some will stick with him after the election. It'd be interesting to see if the Democrat machine went after Trump the same way the Republicans have gone after Hillary. If he gets elected we'll see the Democrats figure out how to launch a pogrom against him like the Republicans did against Hillary. Forgive my ignorance, but was has he done that would get him impeached? If he has those skeletons in the closet, surely they'd be out by now? Is your bar ONLY that the candidate could be impeached, or would you settle for simple criminal activity? Because if we're willing to say that it isn't OK for our politicians to be criminals, here's a short list of things that Trump could be investigated for: Sexual Assault Beauty pageant peeping Housing discrimination Mafia ties Trump University The Trump Institute The Trump Foundation His multiple bankruptcies Employment of undocumented workers Loans tied to his casinos Federal antitrust violations Reneging on money owed to contractors & workers Before anyone goes nuts saying Trump has never been convicted related to any of these, and that some of these appear to be fabricated "scandals" remember - I'm not saying he's guilty of anything in any or all of these. I'm saying the Democrats could go after Trump on any or all of these like the Republicans have gone after Hillary for: Whitewater The emails Benghazi Foggy Bottom Sidney Blumenthal Speaking fees The Clinton Foundation Bill's extramarital affairs (the dozens of them) Yes, I know she hasn't been prosecuted for all of them, but they've all been fodder for years and years. And yes I know I'm forgetting some. But, like Trump, Hillary has never been convicted of anything. So that's what I'm talking about. Trump has plenty of things for which the Democrats could, if they wanted, go after him for. 2 Link to comment
