BigRedBuster
I think it will be Tommy on offense and the D line on defense. If the D line can make them one dimensional while not drawing away from the pass coverage, that would be huge. Get pressure on the QB without selling all out on blitzes every pass play. This will make DBs like Gerry and Jones to shine. On offense I think there will be a very quiet but very important contributor. I don't expect Westerkamp to play a huge roll that shows up on the stat line. But, With him in the game, their DBs are going to have to account for him a lot more which will either allow other WRs to be open or actually open up the running game more. This will make it possible for Tommy and Newby to shine. Quote Link to comment
BoNeyard
This game hinges on two things. Offensive Line production. Tommy Armstrong. Quote Link to comment
classof93
I think it will be interesting to see how we attack that hybrid 3-4 defense that places a lot of edge pressure as well as interior congestion for the run game. IMO we have the receivers to really spread out their defense and we may find some success running a few stretch plays if we can go inside their backers if they rush up field. It could be the pass game opening up the run and if that is the case, Tommy could be the player that has the most impact. Can their high safety cover the slot if they stay in base D or will they have to switch to their 3-3 nickel package? That could be a key matchup for sure. Love having Westy back. Defense is going to get tested for sure, hopefully we can shut down the run enough to make their play action ineffective and the Blackshirts have a huge day picking some easy throws from a young qb. #GBR Quote Link to comment
TGHusker
TA needs to stay mistake free but I think DPE will be an X factor. On defense I'd love to see Freedom make an impact Yes, time for a breakout game for DPE. Would love to see a Johnnie Rogers type run with that type of impact. Holy moly!” Nebraska play-by-play announcer Lyell Bremser exclaimed after Rodgers crossed the goal line. “Man, woman and child did that put 'em in the aisles! Johnny ‘The Jet’ Rodgers just tore 'em loose from their shoes!” http://journalstar.com/sports/huskers/football/top-50/no-man-woman-and-child/article_4a918066-124d-5f47-8863-96c35cf2f7f9.html Quote Link to comment
suh_fan93
In all seriousness Gerry has a nose for the ball and has a good all around game. He will get a shot in the NFL. I think Nebraska should maybe try stretching the field a few times against Wisconsin. Give Alonzo Moore some looks downfield. I think he's good for it. Quote Link to comment
TonyStalloni
I'll go a different direction. Instead of a few players stepping up, I think if we DON'T have a few players break down at critical times we keep it close to the 4th quarter and find a way to win. Quote Link to comment
