I liked the all black ones and the all white ones a couple years ago.

 

But...remember....we shouldn't have black because it's not a school color.

@BigRedBuster Of course, for that matter neither are red and white. I'm calling out anyone who doesn't yell "Go Big Scarlet!"

I've flip flopped on black unis over the years. I don't think they look very good, but I get it.

 

My main sticking point with alternate unis has more to do with overall design concept than it does color. If an argument couldn't be made that our alternate uni looks "in-line" with our traditional look, I'm probably not going to like it. An alternate shouldn't stick or like a sore thumb compared to regular unis. Most people should think, "wow we should wear that next week" (like everyone said after the 62 throw-back), not "I hope we get another black uni this year" (because the last one wasn't that great, and nobody really cares if we don't actually wear that same exact uni again).

 

That doesn't mean black or gold are off limits, or red helmets, or anything, just don't kill the project by trying too hard. We don't need to try to look good, we already do. 

 

My point is, they better not use duct tape again.
