Well, complaining about it 2 weeks ago wasn’t nearly as obnoxious as it was in 2010 and 2011.

 

When people complained about it 2010-2011, we were winning lots of games and scoring lots of points and gaining lots of yards.

 

This season (overall) we’re doing the last part and then too often not doing the other 2.

Yeah, I agree with you.

 

Just pointing out how much people will find anything to complain about when they don't like the overall result.

Tom Osborne was pretty “old school” but much of his offense was predicated on creating big plays.

Totally agree. 

 

In the NFL, the 49ers have started featuring their fullback. Kyle Shanahan is pretty new-school, but it's a great look and everyone loves it. Denver does the same thing with our own Andy Janovich, and the broadcasters always rave. The new fullbacks still do lead blocking in designed sets, almost never carry the ball, but turn into a receiver that the defense forgets to cover. They usually double as special teams badasses. Fullbacks could be really cool again.

Big plays allowed per game ranked from worst to best. I put us as low down the chart as possible for the ties so we could feel better about it. The way to read it is there are 27 teams that are as bad or worse than us for 10+ yard plays. Only positive to take away from this is at least our ranking trends downward compared to other teams the higher the yardage is.
