HuskersNC949597
Former catchers as pitching coaches used to be the norm, and somehow everybody managed to not have ERAs in the 20s, so I don't think it matters that much. I think pitching this year was going to be a work in progress no matter who was coaching, losing both of the Waldrons, Eddins, Fisher, and to a lesser extent some of the other seniors and Chad Luensmann (who gave up 4 runs in his only appearance so far this year at UCF :/ ), there isn't a ton to work with. Throw in a bunch of errors and you get last night xP Quote Link to comment

SouthLincoln Husker
Here we go again. Leading 2-0, go to the bullpen and we are now tied. Quote Link to comment
SouthLincoln Husker
4 to 2, our pullpen sucks. Quote Link to comment

But we completely shot ourselves in the foot this inning. Got in a bases-loaded, one-out jam, thanks to a HBP (from our starter) and two walks. Got a soft grounder up the middle that looked like a possible inning-ending double play. But it looked like there was some indecision by the SS as to whether to take it himself or flip to the second baseman. He flipped then the second baseman got it stuck in his glove and could get the out a first. And that leads to four runs. So it's not all the bullpen's fault. Quote Link to comment

And some of them were after they should have been out of the inning. I don't know what is so controversial. I already said the bullpen could have been better. But it's not all on them either.
