ttheKid1*18
On 1620, they are talking about Steve Sipple, and how he wrote the article on Beck, and had the quotes from his mom. Do you blame him. I think that is ridiculous. He did nothing wrong, except report the news. Opinions? Quote Link to comment
skersfan
Well my gut reaction is the news media creates about 90% of the problems in the world. But they do serve a purpose. I blame it on the unnamed individual that quit. Any excuse would do. Never taking responsibility for your actions is a current trend in todays youth. Apples don't fall far from the tree. Mom taught everything he knows, so that is who I blame. But I really do not care anymore. Time to move on and concern ourselves with the ones that want to be here. They are our QB's and there not quitters. Good ridance. Quote Link to comment
pigsonthewing
Blame? Does it matter? Beck is gone. Some will say "he was too immature, too young," etc. perhaps. but none of this really matters now. Its done. Lets move on. Quote Link to comment
NU fan in Denver
I don't blame it on Sip. If someones mommy hadn't said certain things then there wouldn't be anything to report. BTW the blog in HuskerExtra for the LJS is getting quite large. Several people are placing the blame on him. Quote Link to comment
husker rob
Now that Harrison is gone I would like to hear everything that Becks mom did actually say. Apparently Steve didnt print everything that was said. Quote Link to comment

He just worte the article. Like the saying, don't shoot the mesenger. I am happy he reported it, and now Beck is gone. We don't need a little baby on the team. Quote Link to comment
dbetz23
They are idiots if they think it's Steve's fault. Give me a break. Quote Link to comment

BIGREDIOWAN
Exactly if there are some people blaming him for reporting the news then we have found the idiot fans that every team has and we should destroy them now!!! Quote Link to comment
zoogs
Even though I think what his mother said doomed him, you can't blame his mother for saying that. Bottom line, it's his own fault. He's the one who left practice. Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
He should have talked to the coaches a few days ago, expressing his concern with playing time. Not disapear, and send his mom txt mesages. He can't blame his mom for not wanting to be seen at Nebraska ever again, but only himself. Quote Link to comment
motorboatjonesNU
Sipple vehemently states Beck's mom did NOT ask to be off the record. I'll believe that until proven otherwise. She is silent about it, so there's probably truth in that. So, no, he doesn't get any blame, unless it comes to light that it was indeed supposed to be off the record - but I doubt that will happen. I think it played out this way- LJS gets to her first. Step-dad hears what she says, and says, "Don't say things like that to a reporter." OW-H gets her next, and she wants some comments to be off the record. Quote Link to comment
ttheKid1*18
I guess that Sipple only used 1/4 of the quotes from her. What else bad stuff did she say about ZT and the team? Quote Link to comment
tattooedhusker
Sipp just knew that she had bigger balls than harrison did ...grapefruits my friends...GRAPE-F'N-FRUITS Quote Link to comment
DaveH
I don't know if you can blame him. He just did a story, although it's funny that LJS will take some heat from people on this like they did the Solich thing. They seem to ride the line a times. The line where you think, hey, they seem to be out to destroy the team they write about. But then you realize that they are just reporting on it. Albeit with somewhat of a sinister slant IMO.
