I suppose it's possible they were considering not renewing her scholarship but that seems pretty odd for someone who was a significant contributor - played full back row most of the time, iirc. She was the Hawai'i player of the year her senior year and a second-team All-American. She originally signed with USC as a scholarship player before coming here.
