Regardless of our worth (and by the way I disagree with being 14th cuz I believe Michigan has actually checked out, where we're at least giving some effort); there are some tangible benefits to getting a home game, one of which is not having a limited roster (with given our injury situation), We seem to need a lot of bodies), and one last chance for some others to at least put on the uniform instead of being left at home. Also miffed that Iowa (whom many are calling the second best team in the conference) gets rewarded with Michigan? What happened to the hierarchy of records moving down in accordance with the standings?

AT Rutgers? Because we had TOO many home games ...or just a final finger from the B10....

Absolutely spot on. After spending weeks lamenting the start of the Illinois game we come out and on the first series try to replicate it? We're trying to be too cute. Don't ask your players to do something they're not proficient at. Everybody on the planet expected a heavy dose of Mills straight ahead and instead we run sideways; even most of his carries were lateral and cut back into the pursuit. Cannot understand their planning process. They really need a solid dose of self scouting with honest appraisals....

And evidently lying on his resume...

At 5-4, you're going to have a lot of company. The way 2020 has gone, and at this point in the season, I'd guess 95% of this board would take that in a heartbeat.

I don't doubt that they could be a very good team. I'm just saying that our reliance on the three when it was contagiously bad, left us pretty vulnerable. And we are constantly getting out hustled on the boards as well. But having questioned that, I remain optimistic that we could also be very much of a surprise team ourselves.

I think I witnessed a large portion of Diaco's "strain" today versus Rutgers. Seemingly no clue on defending the quarterback run game.

This Smothers situation is perplexing. If Frost says Luke is his quarterback of the future without even giving Summers a shot, I'd have to think he'd be reevaluating his options. Personally I'd like to see IF Smothers can throw decently. We've been trying to manufacture quarterback throwing motions for way too long.....

Does a vaunted "passing technician" ever have to be accountable for his students inability to step into throws and NOT fire a 6 yard missile into the turf 2 yards short on a simple 8 yard swing pass? Or is that mitigated by being cool?

Something definitely amis with our lack of halftime adjustments and our paucity of scoring in the third quarter. Also continuing issues with red zone philosophy and execution. Having said that, those last two defensive stands will go a long way in instilling some confidence in the future. I agree with those who say it wasn't pretty by any means, but it is a win and we've been struggling to get those... so I'll take it!!

Despite 3 years of evidence to the contrary, I fully expect a Husker win today. 31-14.
