That is capitalism. I am not against capitalism, and neither is Moore. I find his movies entertaining. I voted for him, because his opponents nauseated me more than he did. I read Audacity of Hope, so my already low expectations were not met. I'm not against capitalism either. I just like my documentaries to well . . . document things. (Like Ken Burns for example. I could watch his stuff all day.) I can't stomach the oafish M. Moore, but a sliver of common ground here. I'm watching Burn's Prohibition series now and it might be as good as anything he's done.

My friends in Texas rave about Armstrong throwing the ball. He doesn't have to be a burner to keep defenses honest. I, for one, am tired of us trying to manufacture throwers. Armstrong is not a project. He is a QB. Fuller is an athlete who can reek damage wherever we put him.

Yes, yes, yes. We have to post the position for 15 days. Hasn't been posted yet. Sipple has already said the money is there, and if Mike says he wants 'X' and Bo wants to bring him in, I'm sure Bo is professional enough to acquiesce. Mike brings both a recruiting prowess and one of the few defensive minds that I can easily say would equal or surpass that of Carl's (IMO). Plus, Mike is just as hot-blooded as Bo and Carl, so it's not like we're putting the Incredible Hulk in as DC or anything. And people have remarked that we have potential DC talent in our staff now, but that it needs a few years to simmer--hiring Stoops would provide us that time, *and* provide a first-hand class in how to be an effective DC. It's a win-win situation if there ever was one, IMO. I'm sure Mike would command $750k/yr., at least, and he would be worth every penny. What does that kind of salary package portend for any potential chemistry issues with our OTHER coordinator and/or staff ?

If this thing can hold 16-18K they better darn well make sure that student section is packed, even if they have to sell the tickets for $1. The student section is expressly designed for STANDING........................so your wishes should be fulfilled.................

Am I the only one who thinks it is a HUGE recruiting advantage to have the head coach of a national team get free face time and (by extension) tremendous exposure to recruits all over the country ?? The NCAA in it’s infinite wisdom vociferously monitors seemingly every minutia of coaches and players contacts (even to the absurdity of watching your own son play if he is a potential recruit), yet sees no “recruiting advantage” for Saban to be fawned over by ESPN and in effect, lobby for his team in the bowl selection process? Where is the symmetry and logic here ? If I recall, this issue surfaced a number of years ago when Coach K was doing national commercials during the NCAA basketball tournament. There was a lot of squawking, but I can’t recall if anything changed because of it. Evidently not. (Admittedly, I’d probably think it was less offensive if Bo or Doc were getting the face time, but that isn’t going to happen). Whining?………..or is it inconsistency by the NCAA………….??

Count me as another vote for those who can’t understand the whole fracas over Husker fans being somehow unable or unworthy to root for Creighton when they AREN’T playing Nebraska. Same deal with Creighton basketball fans who are also Husker football fans. My gosh………….what a crime………….!! You are not PURE. Those who deal in such a black and white world where your credentials are suspect if you dare to exhibit multiple loyalties must have had issues matriculating junior high. I am an example of a lifelong Husker fan in all sports. But, when Creighton is not lining up head to head against Nebraska, I’d rather see another Nebraska state Division 1 school win as opposed to lose. Whether it’s basketball or baseball, chances are some local Nebraska kids are involved and if their careers have been noteworthy in high school, I’d like to see them have some success in college. It’s also been easy to do this because I’ve liked Altman and I like McDermott. I also like the Creighton baseball coach. If any of them were jerks, it would be a different deal. Simple as that.
