  1. Im a student and we have 25,000 that go to this university. At the most the student section holds 8,000 people. So we must have "the greatest fans in college football" if we cant get 1/3 of the university to go to a football game. Anyone says that this number of students that should go to games is outrageous needs to stop.
  2. Most people in the student section bitch more than fans with season tickets. I don't even like sitting there anymore. I know there are armchair quarterbacks and coaches everywhere especially at Nebraska, but it gets negative really quick. As someone who sat around 8 years in south stadium (section 18) with my dad and other relatives, it's less negative where we were sitting but the cheering is pretty dim. We really need to rethink the whole greatest fans in college football thing. Sure we show sportsmanship, but when it comes to supporting our team during negative situations, we don't. I mean if we want to be known as the fan base that cheers the opposing team even if they beat us down, that is all fine and dandy, but our crowd has been fairly stagnant of late. Obviously this year hasn't had much to cheer about, but the last time I remember the stadium being real loud was 09' Oklahoma.
  3. Georgia favorite by 3 over LSU and that is the lock. Georgia -3 over LSU is a lock! Minnesota -1 over Iowa. And Notre Dame +3.5 over Oklahoma.
  4. Zach Renner is a stud though no matter what, even though we played terrible. Incredibly surprised he wouldn't get a D1 offer.
  5. It's pretty telling when our best defensive player is a True Freshman ILB from Lincoln.

What about a LB/S/Nickel from Sioux Falls, SD? Or a DE from Fishers, IN? Or a DE from Tempe, AZ?

The defensive talent is there IMO....yes, they are young....but Mora straight outcoached Bo....IMO.

Yea it's telling that the kid is a baller. What other conclusion are you trying to draw from that?

  6. Frost would be interesting. I'm just saying our defense has digressed if that's even a word.
  7. Reality: We cannot recruit defensively, or we have average at best defensive coaches, or both. Just a Realist.

The thing that makes me laugh is that you proclaim yourself a realist and proceed to cast unrealistic expectations on this defense. Yes, 602 yds is unacceptable, but they will get better. Chill.

I must be a crock? I'm all but positive our defense will be better this year. And it is because we lost so many from last years D.

That's glass half full approach considering we lost a bunch of experience players and are switching them in for inexperienced players

  8. I guess I am terrible at sarcasm over the interweb, need to use some emojis. The offense will win us the games this year, like last year, so most likely same result of last year. Not negative, I would love us to win every game and ride into the candycane forest on a group of reindeer. BUT I AM A REALIST. DEFENSE IS NOT AND HAS NOT BEEN ON SUH LEVEL FOR SOMETIME. So basically we either can't recruit, have average at best defensive coaches, or both.
  9. Bo gotta keep it cool. Gotta play it off like it's fine even though it was a disaster. I know first game, but I never really thought our defense would be the side of the ball winning us games.
  10. I mean if we are talking about saving the most people no matter what C for sure...but if we go on that whole moral idea that everyone should survive or everyone dies like batman, then treatment D. I'm in Psych 462 online right now Bye Bye Big 12,, and its absolutely terrible.
  11. Who wants to get a massive bet that Nebraska hits over 9.5 wins for the season (not counting big champ or bowl game)?

I don't mean to be a pooper but we were potentially three plays away from being 7-5 last season. With all the question marks on defense, I'm predicting 10-2 but I'm far from confident enough to put hard-earned money on it.

      Count 'Bility

We were also about 26 plays, give or take, from being 14-0.

  12. One of the best stories I have which doesn't really relate to who I am watching with was Texas A&M in 06...My dad through his hat behind the TV once they picked us off with around three minutes left. I kept saying we would be fine. Missed field goal, and a clutch drive by Zac Taylor and we win the game. Eternal optimist! Until we actually went to College State in 2010, drove 13 hours, and left feeling like my right arm was still at the stadium.
  13. Okay the rebel type comment was a bit overboard, but no we were doing nothing wrong to initiate them yelling obscenities at us. I've been going to games for awhile now, I understand how one is supposed to act at a game. :/
  14. Going with the girlfriend...we are both under 20 so does anyone know how much they care about drinking? Obviously not every college is crazy but red cup, or plain beer can? P.S staying in williamsburg thursday at a super 8 with a smoking room #ganj
  15. Usually sit in student section but got seats in section 18 row 40...taking the gf...should be a blast!
  16. No...Smith sucks...very bad...like Corey Mckeon in the secondary.
  17. We are 13th in passing defense because we played 4 mediocre passing teams and then the other two games they hardly needed to pass.
  18. just watched the ohio state game on tv after seeing it in person and we need to get pj smith out of there...where is courtney osbourne?

His poor play stuck out to me as well. He might be ok in coverage but he is not good against the run.

Teeheehee. He said fill the hole.

  19. Year 5...no excuses...he is no longer a first time head coach...he's had 4 years.
  20. so beating the #7 team in the nation by 2 scores isn't a big win because they're Missouri and it was at home, yet you cite KANSAS FREAKIN' STATE as a big win for Frank? Cause Kansas State was unranked at the time, and we played them at home, too. "So, yea, we beat Kansas State, but really since when has Kansas State been considered a program changing or big win at all? We also played them at home" just saying EDIT: also would like to note that we were losing at halftime to that KSU team, and *only* won by 10. Kansas State was 4-4, and 2-4 in the Big XII when we played that game as well. So I don't see how they were a "damn good" team that year... I somehow thought Kansas State was better...my fault. But we did beat Notre Dame two years in a row. Has to mean something since they were actually pretty good.
  21. If you recall my first post was not saying we should fire him, it was simply stating he has not done much, but defeat average competition, which is more than what Callahan did but to put this in perspective. Bo Pelini: Against BCS Compeition at Home: 12-6 Against BCS Compeition Away from Home and Neutral: 14-12 Against ranked bcs compeition at home: 3-1 (solid) Against ranked bcs compeition away from home and neutral: 4-10 (wins against missouri on that thursday, arizona in holiday bowl, oklahoma state, and penn state last year). Wins against BCS teams that ended up making bowl games including bowl games (ucla, wisconsin, and ohio state included): 15-17 That last one is kind of ridiculous
