  1. "Five years from now, I see a coach with Big 10 ties leading the program. It's time we actually did embrace that idea. Most of the team's we play, even in the future of super conferences, will have a Big 10 flavor to the way they go about their business. Bo came in and tried Big 12 strategies in the Big 10. Didn't work. Mike came in and tried PAC strategies, didn't work. And Scott has tried Oregon/UCF strategies and it hasn't worked well, at least on the offensive side. Plus, our future in recruiting is in the Big 10 footprint." During the years that Nebraska had the most success was running an offense that was counter to what the rest of the country was running. Eventually teams caught up with us and Osborne revamped the defense and tweaked the offense to stay ahead of the pack. As always the secret to any success begins with recruiting players who fit the system you want to run. We have to be cutting edge with the portal, NIL and nationwide recruiting. If major college football goes the route of two major 20-24 team conferences with a 16 team playoff at the end of the season will be the wild wild west all over again.
  2. I think with Maverick it depends how much muscle he is able to put on his frame and keep his speed. He could very well become a DE.
  3. We already have Maverick Noonan committed in this class. Three players at the same position in the same class might not be what the coaches want. They must feel pretty positive about Cameron being a Husker.
  4. Thankfully it was a very cold day!
  5. I hope you have a great experience in Lincoln and at the game. Good luck on your season (after this game).
  6. No experience here for the tailgating aspect but suggesting you get to the stadium early enough to experience the pregame warmups. Watching the drills, kickers warming up etc. If its a very hot day you may be able to bring in your own water so check any notifications from the university. Enjoy your day!
  7. If you decide to let it ride make sure you are putting money away. Nasty surprises are no fun.
  8. If making a bull rush late in the process qualifies as great recruiting then you are right.
  9. We have since Callahan seen our coaches ignore Nebraska kids and take lower rated out of state kids from California, Florida or Texas who last a year or two and transfer out. And it's not that they ever explain themselves, they just ignore Nebraska kids by not making contact. Harrison Phillips and Noah Fant come to mind.
  10. I acknowledge MJ is a good coach and he can make players better. Our coaches have done reasonably well getting kids from Georgia. We have had almost zero luck lately getting kids from the KC/StL area which is in our 500 mile radius. It's not like Barry Jackson was going to suddenly commit elsewhere since he only had one other offer. If BJ is the burner coaches wanted then so be it.
  11. If we were ever in on Joshua Manning then why in the Billy Heck did we take Barry Jackson? A middle 3 star with one other power 5 offer? We pass on the #43 receiver to grab the #149 receiver. Beni Ngoyi had more upside I am flummoxed!
  12. Just watched it tonight and really liked it. Fun to see Chris Evans in the bad guy role.
  13. I'm pretty sure he scared most of the players on our team as well.....including a future head coach who crossed paths with him once.
  14. Every kid gets 5 paid trips to visit campus and facilities. While it doesn't mean he is wanting to decommit it could just be a kid who wants a free trip and some attention. On the other hand we could just be a placeholder. Who knows.
  15. A lot may come down to are they playing by 1995 rules or 2019 rules. A lot of the smash mouth has been removed from college football since the Huskers reigned. No longer can you drive the QB into the ground 3 seconds after he releases the ball.
  16. It pains me to see a very good athlete leave the state. I know he had a Husker offer but we already have 4 commits with Malachi Coleman still waiting in the wings. I wish him well and all the success in the world.
  17. My thinking is he waits to see what kind of year Nebraska has to see if the coaches will be back. He is Nebraska's to lose. It could be mid November up till commitment day
  18. Yes...I saw after I posted it that there were two more pages and it had been posted to death.
  19. Lansing Michigan to IMG Academy is 1273 miles. Lincoln is 1493 miles to IMG.
  20. It's nice to see Will making changes and bringing in experience.
  21. Several of our 3 stars have a good chance to be 4 star if they have a solid senior season this fall plus we are in on quite a few current 4 stars.
  22. While I am not saying that Raiola can turn last years line into an all Big ten quality group , I do think there are improvements that can be made with a more aggressive style. Making the run game serviceable would go a long way to improving our offense. Keeping at least a few defenders off the QB till he can pass the ball would be a step up.
  23. Commits aren't waiting around anymore. We entered the fray late in the process but I'm not sure he would ever have been ours to lose.
  24. I don't claim to be a butter connoiseur but a lady I worked for last summer gave me a couple pounds of butter from Hope Dairy in Minnesota. It's at least an upgrade over the average grocery store brands. Nothing better than cold butter on warm bread, cinnamon rolls or muffins.
  25. I have no ill will towards AM at all. I would love to play them in a bowl game when both teams are 10-2 or better.
