  1. I don't claim to be a butter connoiseur but a lady I worked for last summer gave me a couple pounds of butter from Hope Dairy in Minnesota. It's at least an upgrade over the average grocery store brands. Nothing better than cold butter on warm bread, cinnamon rolls or muffins.
  2. I have no ill will towards AM at all. I would love to play them in a bowl game when both teams are 10-2 or better.
  3. Neither have any of the high school recruits but they must see something on film that leads them to believe high school kids are worthy. Chins has seen him for two years now and I'm sure they have an opinion whether Colton is or is not capable of improving enough to play D1.
  4. The coaches need to figure out if Colton Feist is deserving of a schollie this year.
  5. Third place was Vince Genatone in 10.63. The North Platte LB who wanted a Husker FB offer.
  6. If Nebraska gets out of our slump mostly due to the portal and starts winning games again at a crazy pace for a couple years, how long do you think it will take the Big Ten to put a limit on the number of portal players a team can grab in one year?

Not sure.  But I also think things will change fairly soon (or settle down) with NIL and the transfer portal.  A monster was created out of a good idea originally.  Too many hands F'd it up.  The original idea was good and helpful (with NIL and transferring). Without leadership and rules in place for all to follow, this is what you get.

I guess what I'm comparing it to is the decision when the Big 12 was formed that restricted the number of Prop 48 players a school could enroll per year. The vote was 11-1against the policy that Nebraska used to it's advantage. It was one way to bring the Husker program back to earth after many years of success.

  7. In the case of the SEC I could see a scenario where Alabama and Georgia meet in the regular season and he home team wins as was mentioned above. Then they meet on a neutral site CCG and the other team wins. What playoff official in his right mind would leave off either team in the playoff selection vote? Alabama dominates a Big Ten team and Georgia pounds a Pac 12 or ACC team to play a third time. I don't see the Big 12 ever making a playoff game going forward. The Big 10 could be looking at Ohio State and Michigan splitting games with both ending up 12-1 and in the running for a berth in the final four. Even more so if it's expanded to 6 or 8 teams. At what point does the football world decide they are tired of seeing the same 3 or 4 teams win every year? If the Huskers take advantage of the transfer portal and get to 9-3 or 10-2 consistently, they still might never sniff a playoff berth but could get to a Rose Bowl or another good bowl.
  8. With Sam Griesel, Juwan Gary (from Alabama) and now Emmanuel, Fred can put three solid guards to go with Derrick Walker returning and Blaze Keita the #1 junior college post player.
  9. He's roughly the same size as Pete Maravich the year he was a freshman. I'm also NOT saying he is comparable to Pete.
  10. One run in nine innings facing the worst teams third best pitcher. Will Bolt needs to find some answers either in development or new players. Time to earn that raise he received last fall.
  11. This team can let a nice lead dribble down their leg faster than any team I have watched. Load the bases and can't score. Throw a ball over the first baseman's reach and two runs score. Get the go ahead run on third and can't get him home. 15 runners left on base.
  12. Having two Nebraska kids in the top 8 players would put some butts back in the seats.
  13. It would be nice to get a player who has been in the trenches a few times.
  14. Last year we had seniors and some juniors that graduated and/or were drafted to MLB. The last two years have been one wiped out covid year and a year where the Big Ten only played an in conference schedule. Our younger players didn't have the mid week games vs Northern Colorado, K State, UNO and Creighton to get game experience. Practice can only accomplish so much and is different than playing live games with fans in the stands expecting you to win or opponents fans yelling for their team.
  15. Mickey Joseph and Dawson better be camping on his lawn the rest of summer. He will no doubt get more big time offers than Georgia and Oregon this spring and next fall.
  16. RIP Gilbert Gottfried. Dead at age 67.

He was hilarious! I guess he died of a heart complication that he had kept secret. Talented comedian.

  17. The St Peters Peacocks lost their coach so I'm guessing we are no worse than fourth.
  18. That is a cool way to run the bracket! A little incentive to pick the underdogs.
  19. Whenever I have someone ask me who should they pick to be in the Final Four when they don't or haven't followed the teams all year, I tell them to pick the highest rated team that has the color blue in the uniform. It can be Michigan or Villanova navy blue or NC powder blue. Nearly every year 3 of the final four have blue and 15 of the last 20 national champions have blue in their uniform. Obviously blue and red make up the majority of university's school colors. The last team with red as a major color was Louisville in 2013 and before that it was Maryland in 2002.
  20. If Blaise does make it to Lincoln and Walker comes back plus Will Bridenbaugh gets healthy it would give us a nice rotation of bigs. I do hope Tre McGowens decides to play another year.
  21. May we have the St Peters coach here at Nebraska. In his interview he mentioned that games are easy but practice is much harder. He takes no name kids and makes them a real team that plays as one. So refreshing to see. It's easy to pull for them. What other coach could take Barney Fife's grandson and make him a three point shooter?
  22. Creighton survives overtime to drop SD St. Kentucky loses to 15 seed St Peters.
  23. Teddy Allen had 37 points for New Mex St in their win over U Conn.

His uncle is a friend of mine, here in Tucson. Told his uncle he couldn't get along with the coach, at Neb.

Was told he also was a little hard to control. Little bit of a wild streak, in him. You could see a little of that in Thursday's game.

He did play a heck of a game. To bad he couldn't have stuck around, our program.

      GBR!!!

He was certainly talented but he needs 4 players around him who rarely get to shoot the ball and are satisfied playing defense and rebounding. Most players these days aren't willing to do that plus a team that can shut Teddy down can pretty much win the game.
