Clemson is practically biting OU's ear off.

:: Oklahoma gets thrown off the top of Hell in a Cell :: BAH GOD, THAT KILLED 'EM!

  2. Here's the problem though, the Democrats have leaders that have very questionable ties to some bigoted folk.
  3. Are you getting Bell mixed up with someone else? I remember Bell having injuries, but not missing games because of them. I remember him playing hurt, and having to leave mid game, but never flat out missing games. We were reminded in the Holiday Bowl what a healthy Kenny Bell looks like. He was a great Husker, and he will be missed. Good luck with the rest of your career Kenny! think he missed a game or two due to groin injury.. I have had that injury (once), hard to walk sometimes, cant imagine taking a shot to the boys in a football game while that was healing.. tough kid that Kenny. So tough he "couldn't lift his arm after games" and then miraculously have the ability to go to The Bar and tweet pics of himself.
  4. I've always found it profoundly interesting that this fanbase can rally around and love something that was created and installed by Steve Pederson, perhaps the biggest pariah in NU history.
  5. Oklahoma straight has the Youngstown Flu.

They're in real danger of not being ranked in the preseason top five here.

  6. I am actually not sure when i started to dislike him, but it had to be his junior year. He got far more active on Twitter and just came off as a spoiled brat child. I actually think it was sudden for some. I suppose by "sudden" I probably should have said "inexplicably". There were reasons he drew ire, was my point. And very rarely was his play ever called into question, mat least in my opinion. Armstrong is the clubhouse leader for "unearned pretty mean attacks" and it isn't close.
  7. Such as injuries ... Mouthing off on twitter, demanding he wasn't compensated enough, calling out fans, crying poor than taking pics from his condo on spring break......
  8. It isn't like everyone woke up one day and decided they were going to be rough on Kenny Bell. All of the reasons he got criticized were self induced/inflicted.
  9. Just people trying to convince themselves that Nebraska made the better hire. Nebraska might have.
  10. what does my knowledge of husker history have to do with my dislike for kennys attitude over the past 12 months from the NCAA issues to his handling of the ladt month. And yeah, ill admit for the sake of this point, as a pot calling a kettle black, he didnt represent nebraska as id hoped. From his constant twitter issues to the pelini tape. Not each specific instance, but the body of work. I wont miss kenny just an opinion. Now Ameer. Thats a leader. My issues with kenny have nothing to do with his performance between the white lines. I honestly didnt expect much from him this year and on more than a few occasions made me eat crow in that regard. He's done more in 23 short years than you've probably done in your entire life. For a great many people on this board, I'd almost guarantee that statement is laughably ignorant.
  11. SCORCHING HOT TAKE ALERT!!! Mike Riley will be at Nebraska longer than. Harbaugh is at Michigan.

He may even get a say in who the AD will be. Hackett is an interim AD. And it sounds like Harbaugh's biggest issue in San Fran is he does not have total control.

Also, Harbaugh and Trent Baalke (SF's general manager) didn't get along.

I understand that Harbaugh has a hard time getting along with a lot of people

  12. I did, just been traveling. But I would be surprised, shocked even if NU lost to BYU. They may have Hill back but talent wise, Nebraska is better. Everyone demanding that NU wins 11 because they're butthurt about the change is about to find out how easy it is win 9 with NUs schedule of late.
  13. No matter what happens in the future its hard to argue that every coach on the new staff isn't better than the same position on the old staff. Banker may not be the answer... Pap (I mean Bo) wasn't anything great. Pap was basically a wasted coaching position because Bo overruled anything he said. Bo didn't have his hand in the O as much but as we know he liked to force play calls (like the pass on 2nd and 1 vs Minn) or dictate starters (Taylor, M Pelini, et al). Let's give Riley a chance... he already has more wins vs. top 10 opponents than NU does in this millenium. But save your remarks about how you can't recruit at Nebraska... blah blah. Really, that's hard to argue? You know nothing about how these new coaches will perform. Won't you be ripping into them if we lose to BYU? Tell me where I'm wrong. Riley vs Bo Banker vs Pap/Bo Bray vs Els Warren vs Warren (plus a year experience and no micromanagement. ) Cavanaugh vs Garrison or Barney (with Bo meddling with starters) Read vs Els (special teams) It seems that Riley's staff is both more experienced and organized better than Bo's was. From what I have seen the only place we won't be better is at RB coach. But that's thr least important position (RBs either have talent or they don't for the most part) on the staff and should be a great recruiter. Brown didn't put as much into recruiting as he used to. All that being said coaching improvements alone may not have measurable results. If we lose to BYU then I will place blame where it is deserved. Brown has never been a good recruiter as he doesn't believe in putting in those kind of hours. Each coach deserves six years before they are judged on thier results. The first four they have to deal with what was left by the previous coaching staff, which may be good (Tom for Frank) or bad (Frank for Bill). Two years after the previous coaches last recruiting class should give you a good idea of what that staff will bring you in the future. first four years you are going to give the new guys a pass altogether?.........wow, seems after 2 or 3 you should see some real improvement, as half the guys playing will be recruited and coached up by the new coaches........4-6 years the pattern is set...without a doubt, but things should show steady improvement way before then....i want to see that steady improvement in the first 4 years, old recruits or not! and seeing that the bad coaches consistently won 9 or more games a year, the new improved coaching staff should at least match that number the first two or three years and after that need to win the BIG and play in the national championship playoff- I'd say that is the minimum expectation Instead of googling your big fancy words, you should look up the term "Russian betting" and you might realize why insipid expectations like the ones you just gave for Mike Riley is a bad idea.
  14. Not sure if serious?DL Suh, Crick, Turner, Allen LB Dillard, Compton, Fisher DB Amukamara, Hagg, Asante, O'Hanlon, Dennard That is your 2009 defense that inherited from Callahan Yep.....apparently not all coaches need a transition year.Sensing sarcasm right? The 2009 defense was beast. But the thought was that we should expect 7 to 8 wins next year. Bo first year was 2008 and with that so so defense and offense in transition he won 9 games. The 2009 defense was awesome but it didn't play any games in 2008. 2008 wins W Mich SJSU NMSU ISU Baylor KU KSU CU Clemson How does the 2015 schedule compare to those easy Ws? Oof. God Bo was a total garbage man. Him in the XII during the rg3/Briles/Collin Klien would have sent him to Youngstown a ton earlier. Oh, and to everyone, stop calling it "Callahan's mess". All his mess did was hand Bo his most talented teams. Callahan could recruit but not coach kids. Bo could coach kids, but not recruit. Both were horrible teachers. I would say both are horrible head coaches. The NFL typically doesn't constantly employ bad teachers, and Callahan has had a job there since 07. Bo may be at his last outpost at the upper level.

  17. Apples to oranges. Of course lower tiered school must hire OC's and DC's. Nebraska and Florida both hired coordinators and how did that work out? Name an upper tier school that has hired a HC without previous head coaching experience? I'm not trying to be difficult but I am curious. Mark Richt is one, name some more Florida St Oregon. Oklahoma Oklahoma St Washington
  18. They rappelled off the roof with the rest of the turban and went off to pub to buy each other bourbon. If god came down on Xmas day,mi know exactly what he'd say--he'd say OI to the punks, and OI to the skins, so OI to the world and everybody wins.

  19. This is a territorial thing with San Diego natives. It's a dumb fight and they probably both live in Poway. Now, the north bay vs east bay, there's some territory in CA worth fighting over!
  20. Watch Blackfish first then ask yourself if you really want to go to Seaworld. Not another nut job. Sea World has made major changes since the movie came out. They are building huge tanks with an actual river for the Killer whales to swim up. Unfortunately, the PETA crowd won't be satisfied until every zoo and Sea World empties out its animals. If you drive a Prius, you'll take LJsurf's advice. On the other hand, if you see things in context, you'll be totally happy going to Sea World. Another nut job? Haha, you sir are an idiot. I've read your posts for a while now and that much is obvious. Telling our Husker friends to go to Mission Beach, laughable. A real waterman would never support a place like Seaworld even if they had the best possible practices. There is one place those animals should be: in the Ocean. Grow some balls, go buy a board and some free diving equipment and get out into the real 'Seaworld'. Or maybe you are just afraid to be in their element? Beat it kook! Not one "hodad" blast. I'm doubting if these guys even live in SoCal.
  21. Here are the two things that will prevent Frost from being a head coach at Nebraska. 1. Previous head coaching experience. 2. Being married and therefore will stay off O st. Until the above happens, he ain't coaching here.
