  1. If "relevant" means repeated finishes in the AP top 10. Nebraska hasn't been relevant for quite a while. If "relevant" means national respect and familiarity... absolutely. Nebraska has a national reputation and following to be envied. Nebraska hasn't lost a lot in that regard. JMO.
  2. It's going be a painful day for arkie state. They will get the wrath of a pissed off husker team.
  3. I guess he's a pretty smart guy. I wouldn't have picked the bruins to win.
  4. it's only week two, plenty of time to improve their play.
  5. nothing wrong with some passion. Although looking back on it, it does seem a little out of place to celebrate on defense while getting 650+ yards laid on you.
  6. If you guys manage to lose to Kansas, you need to just cancel your football program! If we play like the texas game... we probably should.
  7. ohio state may not even score. they look pretty bad. it's a husker romp this week.
  8. yup. you picked a good year to move. we'll probably lose every remaining game.
  9. I think that the huskers will unite behind their coaches and blow the buffs out. The "turmoil" is largely external and I think it will rally the troops. A lopsided contest at best. the mighty huskers roll the buffs!
  10. No you don't. "Correcting" your coach in the manner you imply means getting booted from the team. And if you think yelling at a player is crossing the line, you either haven't played much football or you've been on some pretty weak teams. I'll agree that Bo should have handled this better, but the only thing he should have done differently is do it behind closed doors. He was out of control and he has to work on that. But yelling at Martinez is the least of Bo's worries right now. that is spot on. It is Bo's team, the only thing he should have done differently is do it behind closed doors
  11. they are both wrong. but in the context of young college player during the heat of the game and 40 something football coach on the field...
  12. hear it yourself. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=5838941 about the 3:20 mark. he said anybody BUT shembeckler would have got the back of his hand... and went on even further after that.
  13. howard wasn't going to slap shembeckler and never said or inferred any such thing. at least desmond howard isn't an internet tough guy. howard said what he said, PUBLICLY, ON TV, KNOWING Bo would hear it. seems fairly gutsy to me. howard isn't hiding behind a keyboard. If bo doesn't like what howard says, he knows where to find him.
  14. Kansas runs off 35 straight in fourth to stun Colorado... but it won't help them vs NU. There should be a slaughter rule for saturday's game. It will be an NU track meet.
  15. thanks for the cookie. boasting? Having the toughest schedule is a negative, especially for a team like isu. But if you consider it a boast, I guess I'll take it. Sure can't boast about our win/loss record. It's the NCAA website numbers. What would they know?
  16. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/2010/Internet/toughest%20schedule/9games_cumm.pdf Per the NCAA isu has the nation's toughest schdule. Nu is #74-- tied with Boise St.
  17. I can't picture a regular season loss from here out. No reason to think nu can't beat osu again in the championship game. bowl-- who knows, don't kno wwho the opponent is yet. worst case... two losses.
  18. good points but you are missing one. .....8-1 the b12 title may be in his grasp. Bo knows football.
  19. bo is like woody hayes minus the assaulting the opposing team part. he is what he is. Bo.... don't ever change baby.
  20. yup. a nasty play and cheap shot. the klein play on burkhead was inexcusable as well. uncalled for.

    B10 Fit

the huskers will fit in just fine in the B10. It is a truly gruelling schedule, Depth is critical.
  22. that too. he should have tried to get down the field in regulation and never shouldl have gone with the fake fg. I would have played for another OT, but if you go for two, at least do it with the offense.
  23. I agree with you. Rhodes takes a knee to send into overtime then risks the game, when it was only his too lose, on this kind of play. Unless he feels his team has played out of their minds all game and is sure that his team cannot sustain an offense shootout. Not, not smart IMO. Also, I think I finally admit that we are not the team that everyone thinks/or wants us to be. Rhoades blew the call, he should have gone into a second or third OT. ISU is better than some thought and maybe NU is not as good as some thought. a little of each.
