  1. This is bullsh#t. I don't believe that NU didn't recruit him harder than Iowa. He's just drawing attention to himself. He'll switch his school between now and February.
  2. Does it even matter who the 2nd string QB is? I can't wait to see this justification.
  3. The long run was awesome but the one right before it had a more impressive cut. I can't wait to watch him in the NFL.
  4. Is there any mention of Stoltenberg's size? Seems undersized for a DT at 265.
  5. Stanley Morgan. I think you mean Stanley. Morgan.
  6. I thought the most interesting comment in this article is when Stai talks about running the 1's against the 1's. As I read it, because Bo was a defensive coach, and his scheme required a ton of technique, neither squad was able to fully practice the plays they were trying to implement. He gives the example of the zone read. It's hard to practice against the zone to prepare for a team like MSU when the defense isnt running plays that look like MSU's. As a result, both the offense and defense struggle to learn the concepts the coaches are trying to implement.
  7. I see what ya did there. Nice.
  8. I'm prepared for Terry's: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiWIOKKuyGE
  9. I think all of those guys can play pretty tight defense. The one I am most excited to see in a new defense is Gerry. He was really good last year and his athleticism will be on display in this new defense.
  10. I get the feeling from the current staff that Gundy and his crew are recruiting junkies. They love the smack and so far they've been really, really impressive.
  11. I can't remember past recruiting cycles, but it seems like we're way ahead of the curve with this 2016 class. Is this class size bigger, right now, than it has been in the past?
  12. Some are probably phonys However- most people have NO CLUE at all how much effort, consistency and sacrifice is required to perform at that level Most people have no clue how rare a legit DI player is in the whole sea of kids who have played football from a young age- High School A lot of those kids are legit, thankful for each offer I have no problem with them showing their appreciation and if they are legit, thankful- being blessed etc Them getting a little juice- who cares, they earned it Maybe it just bothers me how unoriginal it has all become I'm with you, too. Everyone has a megaphone these days. It's like sending an urgent memo just so people read it. Eventually the urgency of the memo loses it's importance.
  13. Who cares what Skylar Taylor thinks? The odds of a return to national prominence are much higher now than ever because of the playoff system. Yeah this years playoff featured 4 historically talented teams but the one that had the lowest odds ended up winning. Granted OSU was a powerhouse stacked with talent and caught Bama by surprise, but nevertheless they still won the NC. Prior to the playoff it's like KB said, sometimes its not in the cards. With the exception of Bama and maybe the Ducks, there hasn't been a team that year after year replicates results at that high of a level. I know Bo won 9 games but comparing NU to those teams is a false equivalent. The point is that the stars have to align, they have to win some upset games and win the conference championship. If Riley is able to at least contend for the conference championship every year (which I think the division is set up to do), I count that as a great. The huskers of 94-97 were a dynasty, and as evidenced currently by Bama, that is extremely rare. Dynasties are just that - they're rare and only last for a certain amount of time. To say that NU will be as good as they were in the 90's is silly because they would literally have to reinvent their own current version of a dynasty.
  14. I watched this game last night. I forgot how good of a line backer Lavonte David was. He's all over the place. God damn he's fast.
  15. What a sick move. That game was miserable until about 5 min into the 3rd quarter. It rained the whole game.
  16. Donating to NU like KNight has done in Oregon doesn't produce any quantifiable results. Nike needs sexy marketing. Buffet needs only Buffet.
  17. First off, I think you're spot on. The attitude and professionalism that Riley bring to the table are heads and shoulders above the previous administration. Crouch and former players and coaches see that. Now before anyone jumps on the "stop digging up the past" rant that is popular on this board, it's important to note that reaching out to the old staff doesn't mean they're trying to relive the glory days. It means that the current staff is aware of the tradition and that tradition was built by smart people. McBride might not have the chops to defend in the new era of offense, but it doesn't mean that his years of experience as a national championship contender is worthless. The sign of a good CEO is a clear crystal ball and being able to look at past trends to find what works and what doesn't. I see it as more of a duty to reach out to the past to find what works for the future. Also, respect for your elders is one of the signatures of nice people. We are Nebraska Nice, right?
  18. Rankings aside (and irrelevant) DPE is a really exciting to watch. Really looking forward to seeing what kind of mad scientist stuff Langsdorf can come up with.
  19. That doesn't mean we're stupid. It means we're innocently ignorant, because we have no idea what goes on in locker rooms, practice, training sessions, etc. Since the head coach is a professional with the insight of running the program, there is nothing unintelligent about believing what they say. You clownin boo.
  20. I can't believe how jacked he is. The future is bright.
  21. I read an interview once where the reporter asked Carlos what it's like to get more sacks. Kahlil responds by saying "someone has to take the double teams" and then the reporter writes "argument ensues" after Kahlils response. These guys are incredible athletes but I bet they're also just funny to watch interact. I bet the team and the coaches are going to have a riot pitting them against each other. We'll see the results on the field.
  22. They do coke like adults. haha thats hilarious.
  23. Don't forget getting dismissed from your college team because you clashed with coaches. What? He was dismissed from the team?
  24. I heard an analyst on Mike & Mike a few weeks ago say that RG would be excellent as a middle linebacker. HIs reason was his size and speed. As a d-linemen, he's going to lose his competitive advantage against quite a few o-tackles and double team him and run the ball right at him. The guys comment was that as an middle backer, he could use his speed laterally, cover guys in the flat, and he wouldn't have to worry about constantly bulking up because his frame doesn't seem to want to carry 280lbs. I think this made a lot of sense because his speed is what separates him from the pack in college, but in the pros you need a combination of speed and size where with RG it's the size he's lacking. I thought it was an interesting comment. Not sure how it would work in application, but interesting.
