  1. Yeah. Did you notice that Arky St's offense wasn't as explosive after E-Mart laid the wood to their QB? I think Aplin played the rest of the game looking over his should for that beast that attacked him. That hit reminded me of when he put Dan Persa out of the game last year against Northwestern. I'm just glad Arkansas State didn't have a Cain Coulter to replace him.
  2. The running back situation reminds me of when we had Helu as a senior and Rex as a soph. We have a stable of great RBs with the top 2 having clearly separated from the pack. I'll bet Beck finds a way to get both of them on the field in the future - that's a scary thought.
  3. I get upset after the Huskers lose. Then I remember that I buy the merchandise, I pay to go to the games, I spend money in Lincoln on Saturday, I argue with strangers and the Huskers don't give me anything in return. What do the Huskers do for you other than cause great anguish in your life? Relax dude.
  4. I think that once our coaches fully trust and are more comfortable with our secondary we can afford to put them on an island when there's 3-4 wr sets. This should leave the linebackers to defend the te's and the mobile QB situation.
  5. He should change his signature to: "Back to Back B1G Champion. Back to Back Rose Bowl Loser."
  6. We ran that play to the right with Turner way back in one of the noncon games and I've been wanting to see it again ever since. I remember that. It made me think that we have 4 big time playmakers potentially involved on 1 play.
  7. The game is over. You can stop posting here. I'm not sure if anyone has said this, but isn't Jason Peter a drug addict? I regard his opinion about as highly as I regard dirk chatelain.
  8. I think he's also overestimating the impact of losing a couple of assistant coaches. Seriously, his analysis that Penn State should be the division favorite going into next year basically calls the entire rest of the article into question. What an idiotic thing to say at this point. I'll take the job! As far as 2012 goes... With OSU missing the CCG a la USC from this past year our division is going to come down to PSU and UW again. Both schools will be down from last year, I dunno Penn State's exact situation as far as players coming and going and what not but their HC position looks nasty and as far as we go the hits just keep on coming...from what I can see there are three games we could end up losing, @NU, v. OSU and v.MSU (maybe, they lose a lot though) and we might even drop a random one. It's looking to be about the same for PSU where the Lions could lose @Iowa, @ NU and v. OSU. Their OCS is also much tougher even though it won't matter but I could see them losing one, possibly to UVA. At any rate I think the race will come down to the UW@PSU game....too early to call it for now. I think Michigan wins the conference next year though. I fully respect the beatdown that UW put on us this year. That said, their days of putting up 50-60 pts per game are over for a season or 2.
  9. Werd? Ahh dude that's awesome. Finally we can get the incompetent Martinez off the field.
  10. Has anyone heard if Crick will be healthy enough to play in the bowl game? It was originally announced that he's done for the season and that recovery would take about 6 weeks - it's been about that long. Any chance he'll play? What do the 'sources' know?
  11. Clowney is good but he's no Melvin Ingram. If anyone were to be suspended for whatever reason, I'd like to be him.
  12. I heard that last year Texas offered Cryst $1million to be their OC. I'm not saying he held out for more cash and a HC job, I'm saying he would have rather been paid squat than coach at Texas.
  13. Are you saying that Todd McNair (USC Assistant coach) didn't know about what was going on with Reggie Bush? The fact that USC involved agents and high profile athletes in TWO different sports is what got USC in more trouble. If someone on the OSU basketball team were involved with the same stuff as the football players, the hammer would have been really dropped on OSU. I'm not saying anything. You made your point, though, that an assistant coach knowing about Reggie Bush is worse than the head coach at OSU knowing about TP & the other guys.
  14. I haven't seen a comparison to the USC penalties that came down 2 years ago on this thread. So, is the OSU punishment more or less fair than the USC punishment from 2 years ago. ESPN had a guy on last night saying OSU got off easy considering the number of players involved, the level of coaching that knew about the violations, and that the ring leader totally escaped punishment. Yeah, these were tattoos and cars, not a $750K house for Toilet Paper's parents, but still, Tressel knew about it and didn't report it. I could go either way and ultimately OSU and USC will turn out just fine. I'm interested to hear the responses.
  15. Not to get off point here (this is a DC candidate thread right?), but have there been any recent major developments on the DC job?
  16. I think you should go public with those conversations. As a fan I was completely befuddled by his performance through his whole career. Your insights could help set a lot of fans straight that seem to hate Niles Paul. And besides, you can't say you know something and then not say it - that's just wrong. It's like when my sister would tell me she knew what I was getting for Christmas but then wouldn't tell me. It just made me think "does she really know or is she just saying that?"
  17. Gronk catch. Gronk run. Gronk make good play. Gronk make sex with your women. This guy has embarrassed a lot of people and teams this year. He's fun to watch - he looks like a big dumb animal just running around out there. Give it up, though, to the former huskers playing for the Redskins.
  18. A little easier to make that argument back in 2001 when the team you are referencing was beaten by 32 points...not the same as losing in overtime to the #1 ranked team. The point was to point out the inconsistency of ESPN's commentary on other conferences outside the SEC. You missed it, but that's ok.
  19. I'm curious, is specificity of a title a rule?
  20. I'd like to see a clip of Herbstreit or one of the other espn a$$hole$ arguing that a team shouldn't play in the NC unless they win their conference. For those of you that know how to find those old clips, I'm sure it happened around 2000-2001.
  21. Is the media slanted towards the SEC? 9 spots from the SEC on the first team. Lavonte David is 2nd team and Fonzo and Maher don't make any of the team selections. Suspicious. Not sure if this goes here, but whatever.
  22. What a farse. Sandusky waived the preliminary hearing so the prosecutors couldn't ask for a higher bail at the end of the hearing. A move that was expected to be granted.
  23. I wish they would just make the announcement already.
  24. I'm curious about Sandusky's defense. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/gameon/post/2011/12/jerry-sanduskys-lawyer-makes-an-unfortunate-reference/1 Sandusky's argument is that McQueary is a liar, and if that's the case, then he walks. As I understand it, even if McQueary is a liar, there are still other 7 other victims listed in the indictment and McQueary's testimony only relates to 1 accusation. Does anyone else see this is a bizarre tactic?
