  1. Huskers hat second from the left?
  2. I could see you guys winning a couple of ways. 1. The unforeseeable happens (e.g. Iowa State 2009). 2. Our offense has a mediocre outing and our defense melts down. Our defensive line and linebacker corps are really green and no one here has much of an idea how they'll all come together this Saturday. I've bought into the idea that we're going to see an upgrade in athleticism. But it's certainly not beyond the realm of possibility that Wyoming punches us in the face early and our fresh faces on defense won't have the wherewithal to recover. That said, I see the game being similar to last year's opener against Southern Miss.
  3. Not only that, but some of their fans apparently "bleed brown and yellow," while us mere mortals are stuck doing it the old-fashioned way.
  4. classy. TMart included #RedTide in a tweet earlier. Hopefully someone pointed out to him that the phrase also refers to one of the burdens of womanhood.
  5. The Red Tide, since our guys can score during any period.
  6. CU pulled out all the stops recruiting Clowney: http://www.cbssports.com/collegefootball/eye-on-college-football/23265261/colorado-sent-jadaveon-clowney-1-million-ralphie-bucks They sent a recruit $1 million in Ralphie Bucks. The Harvard of the Rockies, ladies and gentlemen.
  7. I didn't read the article if full, but Sports Illustrated said it was another Pro and without that call Woods would have been DQ'd. Any truth to that? I don't follow golf too much so I am not well educated on the rules of this nature. Yeah, I believe it was a golfer on the Champions Tour that initially lodged a complaint. I think his name is Eger. Golf is generally something I watch on Sundays if the only other things on TV are infomercials and Sewing With Nancy so I, too, have little interest in trying to identify exactly which golf eggheads can be called responsible. The Deadspin blurb made the material sound awfully dry.
  8. The colorless turd Jim Nantz was a cause in fact of Tiger's penalty. Punk-Ass Snitches Who Ratted Out Tiger Woods Identified (Deadspin)
  9. ESPN Airtight logic from sports journalism's finest. I don't buy Nike's explanation of the ad, though. If "everything" means only success on the golf course and his ascension back to no. 1, then the copy is pointless. Obviously winning tour events leads to success in golf. That is success in golf. Nike went long on Woods when his other sponsors dumped him and now it's time to start recouping that investment with some free publicity. It was fun watching him flounder for a while. We've got our pound of flesh. Elin's got a billionaire boyfriend. I'm looking forward to seeing whether Tiger can get to 19.
  10. If you're referring to the picture of him with five other guys in red jerseys, I'm pretty sure those are Wisconsin jerseys. They just hosted six recruits. But it does sound like we've jumped Minnesota in the Elmore sweepstakes.
  11. Good book if you haven't read it. One of a handful I've read more than once.
  12. Erstad took the team to Disneyland yesterday. Must have done the trick.
  13. Being Pope Was Great, But You Can't Play Make-Believe Forever--Pope [Emeritus] Benedict XVI
  14. Jack Black got the shaft. My wife and I watched Bernie last weekend and we both really liked it. I've always thought Black was a little annoying but he was perfect for that role.
  15. Uhm i believe you just made my point for me. The statistic shows that only 32 players ranked four or five stars have made the Pro Bowl. Again if every one of those players made the Pro Bowl all 10 years(which they did not) that would potentially be 320 of the 840 roster spots taken. Leaving 520 roster spots available for those not ranked four stars or more. 320 is 38% of 840. 520 is 62%. 62% of players ranked below 4 stars make the Pro Bowl, 38% of players ranked four stars or above make the Pro Bowl. Players ranked below four stars thus are more "successful". The number of four or five star recruits in high school is irrelevant to the matter because we are evaluating them after that rating. Get it? =] i would think the number of 4+ star recruits in highschool matters since you guys are arguing about ratings they got in highschool Not true, the statement is that players rated below a four star have more success in the NFL vs their four and five star competitors, as evidenced by the Pro Bowl selections of the last 10 years. The fact that there were less four and five star recruits in high school is irrelevant and even if we take that stat in to account, a higher percentage of sub four star players still make the Pro Bowl. This isn't a hypothetical situation, I gave an actual figure and using that figure it is mathematically impossible for them to be more "successful". I think the point is an individual 4-star recruit is more likely to be selected than an individual 3-star recruit. Being ranked higher out of high school is correlated with better performance at the college and professional levels. You're making a funny, right?
  16. This thread is starting to have a "Who's on First" quality.
  17. The original BBC series (House of Cards Trilogy) is on Netflix, too. The first installment is excellent and definitely worth watching. The other two are OK but not great.
  18. I hope we get a little somethin' somethin' unexpected today. If not, those tweets may form the basis for a negligent infliction of emotional distress claim.
  19. Peep Show is pretty funny. Netflix's license for the show expires February 1, though.
  20. Decomitted from CU after they tripped over their feet out of the gate. Afterwards, CU never really purused him despite some overtures from him. The new regime down there wasn't interested, either. Scuttlebutt is that he's put on some bad weight and his senior year was underwhelming. There's probably a reason why he didn't get an offer after our junior day.
  21. Great to have you back Tre'Vell! Are the academics a big or little question mark?
  22. Marrow recruited hard when he was here (I think) and he has to do the same for Kentucky. It sucks when this happens but, you know, hate the game not the player. I know I had fun reading the ISU boards when we got Suttle. It would be a weird decision, though. Marrow wouldn't even be his position coach. Stoops is going to have a hell of a challenge down there. Definitely doesn't help our cause to rag on the recruit.
  23. Rivals still doesn't have Singleton added. Lookin good.
