  1. Can we still blame Beth mowins on the broadcast call as an excuse for a loss or we already burn thru that?
  2. Well, didn’t see this coming... perhaps LMC knew he wasn’t going to get past 2AM these next 2 years and Logan s wasn’t a for sure thing either. the shame in all of this is regardless of school he went to he’s simply not a quarterback at the end of the day. Not D1 and certainly not at the next level in the NFL... he has the speed tho to make it at other positions such as wide out, speciality down type back.. wish him the best of luck but can’t help but make the comment he’s essentially sitting out for a year for an even less guaranteed situation when he very easily could have been one of the main focal points of the offense here.
  3. I think we’re also finding out that the reaction a month back was pretty overblown. Still sucks we lost wandale but even the reaction to LMc leaving was ridiculous. Time to stack some W’s with those that want to build something great. For those that want to leave, thank them for their time but out of sight out of mind the second they leave the progrum.
  4. So someone makes an informal comment and your response adds nothing to it and just jumps to needing mental support? Real kind of ya buddy- perhaps you should take up your own advice
  5. meh, you'd think one would rather be a backup/spot rotation guy at a power 5 conference with no future compared to a starter at a crap school like the powerhouse known as university of tulsa. Perhaps this is a sign he wouldnt have even sniffed back up snaps here given the young talent and potential on the line... good riddance!!!
  6. We were spoiled going from Helu to burkhead to ameer for 5 years straight... Lot of questions that need to be answered.. the simplest thing I'd like to see is our running back actually be the leading rusher, by far, on this team. QB leading with rushing yards is not a recipe for success in today's game. The threat of an athletic qb isnt as much of a threat when a defense is 60% sure he's running with it... an actual back opens up the PA possibilities and less designed qb run plays actually makes the threat of a qb run more dangerous, if that makes sense
  7. Good question. I do think there needs to be some refinement in the redzone and scale down the horizontal play calls for more vertical aligned attacked. That being said, there were countless times last year guys were open by play design and it just didn't pan out due to various reasons well documented here that doesn't need a rehash (erratic qb play, erratic OL composure, young WR corp) To me, its 80% refining the current personnel and getting the right playmakers in here and 20% adjustment of offensive philosophy... I'm not buying Frosts style can't work int he big10, it worked just fine his first year with minimal prep time. The day we see frost give up offesnive play calling and its not for a major well known coordinator, is the day we know frost is out the door
  8. lol, what a twist. Perhaps the r moore connection paying off here? Not sure what i think about this. He's gone at this point so whatever, nice get for purdue, just such a weird school to hear as I'd argue their staff is in a worst position than frost, theyre not a known football factory and there has to be better options out there for the guy.... tho maybe top teams just view the guy as an undersized wide out who's shifty but cant stretch a defense on pure speed
  9. 100%.... man we were incredibly spoiled with that run from 2009-2016 of helu, burkhead, ameer. Got too used to having an upper classmen stud followed by an equally as intriguing young guy that was ready to step in when it was their time. Mills def lacks the break away speed you'd like to see, guy got caught from behind one too many times by a LB or lagging secondary guy when the hole was there to break one off. We also havent really placed OL talent into the NFL since Bo's prime days... I've got some confidence the young guys we threw into the lions den this past year will grow into that and the running game results will shortly follow
  10. Would like to see more RB talent in the mix but frankly our OL challenges and QB downfield passing attack has more to do with the lack of RB production in my opinion than not having guys in the room who can get the job done. Even prime AP from oklahoma would have difficulties doing work when the defense is stacking 8-9 defenders within the box because there is zero threat of a passing attack. TL/DR: Want better RBs any day of the week but us learning how to throw the damn ball will make a lot of the guys we already have in the RB room look a lot better
  11. where is the Luke smoke coming from? Not saying I don't believe it but haven't read much into what this is tied to. One would thikn that not winning the starting job with a team that is in a poor state passing attack wise is some pretty clear writing on the wall that his future isn't cut out at the QB position. There are very very very very few examples of players who became NFL QBs with this much uncertainty and lack of track record in college. Only one that really comes to mind is Tannehill but he clearly had an arm at A&M, I don't see that with Luke and arm strength isn't something you're really improving by much at this point- you either got it or ya dont. I think he'd be an ideal flex player at both RB and WR. He'd be an excellent change of pace back behind Mills with that speed of his and he can most certainly learn to stretch the defense with certain route packages at the wide out spot... he's got too much speed and playmaking ability to not be on the field. It be a shame if he and those around him didn't see this as well
  12. flat/bubbles/swing passes work great when your offense has already gashed the opposing defense for chunk plays and they have to back off as a result. Our tendency to call these plays 20% of the time when we havent thrown it more than 5 yards and are gonna qb run 80% of the time is just dumb
  13. Man I hope this is just smoke. I know this team has quite a few gaps to address but making the claim wandale leaving isn't an impact is asinine to me. Guys literally the one consistent playmaker we have had and this would be a major loss to the team. Regardless of the circumstances driving this decision, faces of the progrum leaving is never a good thing, regardless of the state of that progrum.
  14. Not trying to disparage the kid but good riddance. At some point a “captain” needs to lead by example in actual games that matter and not just practice. I’ve seen one too many inexcusable drops by the guy- this progrum needs actual playmakers to change the vibe to a winning mindset and safe to say he’s just not it
  15. I dunno about that, if CTB declares I'd be shocked if a team didnt pick him up given his versatility. As it stands now tho, I'd probably agree. Tho who knows- you'd think someone like bootle would receive a pretty solid indication where he'd potentiall fall round/pick wise. Particularly in today's spread em out nfl, feel like the need for guys who can cover has never been higher
  16. kid too full of himself who puts his coaching staff on blast and isn't wanted by any other P5 teams? what a shocker
  17. in fairness, I dont think the staff anticiapted the mo washington s#!t storm when they recruited the guy... based off what we saw in year 1, guy had the physical potential to be a 1,000 yard back every year he was here given how electric he was... Too bad the mental part of the game and off the field character wasn't on the same level Do agree with you tho we need to find a solid RB1, ideally next year. cant strike out 3 years in a row- injuries happen but when they happen continually that indicates a trend in we're going after the wrong guys (assuming a checkered injury history)
  18. Its amazing how many times Bo struck gold with some of his juco players he brought in. Perhaps pure luck but he had a solid run there in the early 10's bringing not only immediate impact guys into the program but legit all conf guys at that
  19. lol, my heart sank as the page was loading
  20. heard he couldnt grow a mustache so didnt earn that PT
  21. well good for you. I for one could care less about a team turning down an invite they wouldnt have received in a normal year. Woulda loved to watch another game but im not on the team- players voted- probably had rationale behind it and im at peace with their decision. You disagree with that?
  22. bro, its not like we were 5-3 and turned down an invite. we got a pity invite we didnt deserve simply because other teams bailed. quit acting like this team is giving up on something sacred, any other year this wouldnt be a discussion and your half as hell baked take that because they dont play this game will doom next year is the epitome of a misguided adult tantrum. Cry me a river and go watch some highlights of the glory years if u really need that husker football fix. You have no idea what it was like for these kids to essentially be shelled up in a dorm room for 9 months- u think they fought like hell to play and now dont want this bowl game simply for kicks or because theyre scared? While I'm usually tolerant and open to different perspectives, your ongoing b!^@hfest represents the 1% of the fanbase that is simply wrong and creates a bigger narative that this fan base is entitled and delusional as hell. This isnt an actual game, its a pity invite that they didnt want. IF anything, that shows more respect to me because they didnt earn the f'n right to play in a bowl game based off the on the field result. I'd rather them own up to it and earn it next year as opposed to creating a sense of entitlement by getting a bowl invite they didnt earn or deserve
