  1. I may be mistaken, but, I think you can still withhold the names of who is officially starting at what position until shortly before game time. I know teams will do this with injuries all the time, waiting until just before the game to announce if Player X will be suiting up that day. I don't know if suspensions work the same way. This isn't baseball, where you have to submit a lineup card to the umpire and announce all substitutions, with no re-entry. You don't have to officially name any starters. I mean, if they return the opening kickoff down to our 1, we're going to put a different defense out there for the first play than if it's a touchback. I think some people get confused with differing rules between HS, college and pro. I think in the NFL, there is a specific rule and procedure coaches must abide by when reporting injuries, suspensions, starters......etc. Pretty sure none of that pertains to college.
  2. I did see that Gordon is supposed to be back with the Royals within a week. That will be great for them. I haven't seen much on him but I have to assume Chamberlain is still struggling.
  3. Love the attitude Gangwish has. LINK LOL....not surprised at this.
  4. First you mention that you are happy to see Sam Cotton 4th on the list at TE and using that as an example of the coaches seeing what you did. Then, you say you like all the "OR"s on the list implying that those players are equal right now and battling for positions. With the word "OR" by all the TEs, I'm not sure Cotton's name being last means anything. Completely read that wrong. Did not see the word -OR- as including 84 Cotton. You're right though, it does. Disregard statement about what the staff sees. As far as me personally, I've been unimpressed. I hope he steps it up. Play more like Ben did. Ben was physical and aggressive and knew how to finish a block. Like Enhance says, I still think it means he's at the bottom of the four. I completely agree with him needing to step it up, or, at least one or two of those guys really need to step it up. Just not sure if the order really means much. It might, we just don't know. I'm not surprised that Carter didn't just run away with this like most of us thought he would. I have heard from an ex player who talked to an ex coach that he has troubles catching the ball in practice. I know, it's third hand info, so take it for what it's worth.

  6. Ameer also was at the top or near the top in the country in yards before contact. Link? Also, does being towards the top in yards before contact mean Ameer Abdullah was extremely elusive, or that our offensive line was good? I watched the games, I can tell you which of those two I would say...... I don't have a link. I remember it being mentioned in games later in the season. I personally think it's a lot of both. AA was really good. No question about that. However, our O line wasn't bad at run blocking. They had their issues with pass pro at times and the entire cluster f*** that was most of the MSU game. But, at run blocking they were pretty good. Sorry, you don't rack up the stats like we did last year even if AA is as good as he was without a decent run blocking O line.

  8. I can understand all of that. And, I think his prediction of 9-3 for this year is not out of line. However, the feelings that we would be 6-6 if we played in the Pac12 is ridiculous. We all of a sudden would have 3 more losses if we played in a different conference?
  9. Hey....talk about another team. The Cubs are having a good year and their's lots to talk about. There are other teams that are having a good year...bring up the subject.
  10. People with the same feelings as Sam point to AA, Bell and Gregory as losses that just won't be replaced. Yes, they are big losses but, it's not like we have recruited horribly the last few years. We have talent on this team.
  11. Being the first game of the year could mean an upset can happen. I would be more sure of a Minny loss if it were later in the year. My Big Ten rose colored glasses are on for this one. I'm taking Minny 27-20.
  12. It somewhat depends on what you mean by 80s form. Can we get to the point we are top ten consistently and eon conference championships? Absolutely no reason not to. However, I have been in conversations with fans they think we should be so good that we never should have to worry about teams like Minnesota or Iowa. That just isn't the case. I agree with Darlington on the recruiting factor that the Oklahoma game gave us over other teams that never were on tv. Now, everyone has that exposure. Those teams have more talent now than they used to. We can get back to top ten and conference championships but it's going to look different.

  14. Yep, we've gotten a lot more out of Iowa than they have gotten out of Nebraska.
  15. I've heard one heck of a lot worse crap songs and she's kind of fun to watch dance in the video. Hey....she's having fun with music and being a Husker fan. I see no reason to say it sucks. Not a song I'm probably going to go out and buy on iTunes though.
  16. So, now we know how he won so many games while at IL? All 4 of them.
  17. So....I'm assuming you didn't or wouldn't have been in favor of Frost coming back to Nebraska after he originally picked Stanford?
  18. I would have liked to have both. But, I'll settle for them getting Fant and we get Farniok.
  19. Slick Willy has a huge amount of blood on his hands--as do most presidents. Namely, Slick was responsible for increasing U.S. arms sales from ~16% to ~63% during his term. A large portion going to Turkey in their massacres of large numbers of Kurds in the 90s. Pretty much left unreported, of course. Slick also signed off on NAFTA, which is largely responsible for the U.S. race to the bottom--for the "99%", anyway. It wasn't his idea, though, but more of the same Reich Wing economics shoved down our throats. T(oilet)P(aper)Parnership will further destroy U.S. sovereignty and accelarate 3rd worldization of the country. Not even Der Trump can stop any of that. Anyway, not a fan of Slick Willy and his wife. I think BERNIEBERNIEBERNIE offers the most change for the common man and woman, if the Reich Wing doesn't assassinate him, that is, should he become a real threat.(not joking). You know....this is a perfect example of why I just can't take your posts seriously.
