  1. It's not just..."whatever". I don't care if you are talking about Beck, Hannity, Oreilly, Maddow, Olberman or anyone else on any of the networks that claim to just be opinion shows. People have been drawn to these people as their source for news. It is a sick phenomena in the US right now that is extremely dangerous. Beck or Maddow come out with some big story that their sheep eat up and all of a sudden it's all over the Internet as fact when it is farthest from the truth. Then you throw in people like Micheal Moore that absolutely is sick to the core with his lies. But...technically, he is telling facts. I have very little respect for anyone in the media anymore and they can all go burn for all I care.
  2. facts do not have 'sides', perceptions do. OH....but they do. You can write an article about a certain event and paint it in a completely different picture than what reality is and still be reporting technically facts. BUT, the end conclusion of the story that the reporter leaves you to decide on your own is completely scewed because the reporter only told the facts that support one side.
  3. This gets to the meat of what is wrong with media now days. Americans have become so conditioned to believing the jobs of journalists is to support one side or the other even if it is presented with facts. That is NOT their job. Their job is to report facts from both sides and allow us to decide from there.
  4. You mean like whenever anyone dares mention Fox......................it is automatically relegated to the trash bin ? that is not what i said at all. when someone mentions fox it will be criticized, but their behavior should not be justified by another entity's lack of journalistic integrity. it comes down to this: there is truth and bias. i have no problem with journalists having a slant as long as they are still honest and have integrity. but if something is patently false, it needs to be criticized. if you are biased, but back it up with facts; that is good. if you are biased, but only back it up with conjecture; that is bad. That is impossible. A journalist can personally be biased. Everyone is. BUT, their job is to report facts. Facts come from both sides and to be biased to one side even though you present their side of the "facts" is completely against what a true journalist is supposed to do.
  5. Here is another clue. If a "news" outlet spends any amount of time and effort talking about how they are more honest/accurate/balanced than the other network.....RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. You can make up your mind the same as everyone. But, for me, when a "news source" does something dishonest I believe it is one of the worst things that can happen to them and I have a very hard time believing any of them. That is true for Fox, MSNBC, CNN, Drudge, Huffington or who ever the flavor of the month is. Nobody should listen to any of these outlets and just believe them without question. Something I've been saying for years. Welcome aboard. So have I...we must have been spending time on opposite sides of the ship.
  7. Three teenagers at home with sports and other activities along with the future of having three kid in college......away games are not in my immediate future. However, I have a dream. At some point in my life when I have the time and money, I would like to take a year and go to every single game the Huskers play. No matter if it is an away game or home game. I would like to have a few couples we do it with to make it even more fun. I would like to make it so that we would leave for away games early enough to get to them Friday night and then get home Sunday. It would be cool if all of us would pull campers and tail gate every weekend. Hopefully if I ever commit to doing this it will be in a year we are really good. I have big dreams.
  8. What would Crouch's O line have looked like if the blocking rules then would have been like they are now?

  10. Last week I was watching the game with some guys I hadn't watched a game with in some time. They constantly were calling for a new QB. And, that's when we were winning and the offense was doing well. Martinez will go down as one of the most unappreciated QBs in Nebraska history.
  11. If he follows his current career per game average(222.88) for another 20 games(considering best case scenarios of 6 more this season and 14 next year with B1G Championship appearances) he should end up with over 12,000 career yards. This year he is averaging 280 per game. I don't see any reason that is going to go down over the next 20 games. That would put him over 13,000 yards. Very impressive.
  12. I said defense shutting them down. The offense has proven to me that they can and will score pretty much on anyone. I would be absolutely shocked if we don't score more than 25-30 points on Sparty. That is even if they cough up the ball a couple times. However, the two games we have lost this year the defense completely fell apart. I am very optimistic about what I have seen since the OSU game on offense. I think the coaches have made some very good adjustments and the players are playing hard. I believe our D will shut down MSU like we did Michigan. We win.
  13. The fact is, there are a gazzillion reasons why certain people are gay. There isn't just one reason. God loves everyone but he doesn't love everything we do. We as humans are not the judges of what or who God "hates". In fact, I'm pretty sure if God were here, he would not ever use the word hate.
  14. I loved that game. We had just moved to Iowa and watched it along in our apartment. I loved the fumblerooski but this trick play has always stuck out to me as the coolest and it is still legal to my knowledge.
  15. I have no problem with Nebraska going up against anyone. Are we going to lose some? Yes. But, I would rather our team go out and play the best team available than go play some middle of the road team.
  16. Agree!!!! If we are just looking at running ability, I'll have to take Miller even though Martinez is good. But, if you somehow have the ability to contain both of them, I will take Martinez as the more complete QB that can beat you with the pass if the running gets shut down. Both of them are better than Robinson.
  17. Lol, you got tickets for HER bday? Is that like getting HER that new chainsaw for Xmas? I'm hoping she likes the golf clubs as well So, is she still a girl friend?
  18. We are no different in the backup QB position than 90% of the teams out there. About the only ones who have seen the second string QB significantly are teams that have struggled to find a reliable starter. We haven't had that problem.
  19. I always kind of liked aTm and now I'm liking them even more.
  20. Has he given the same amount of tax returns that Obama has?
